Feinting in combat and dual sneak attack?

Question for the experts here. If you Feint in Combat, does the person lose the dex bonus for just the first of a dual attack or both? The PH says that the "next attack you make against the target doers not allow him to use his Dex bonus to AC." Does "next attack" mean a dual attack or just one part of the dual attack? This is obviously important for sneak attack damage.

No. Just as spells like true strike (which use the "your next attack" phrasing) only add to one attack roll, so feint only removes the Dex bonus vs. one attack roll.

Thanks.

Let's add Expert Tactician into the mix (free attack when foe denied dex bonus). I assume it is the same -- this counts as the "first" attack, and using your partial/full action afterwards doesn't count?

So we have a rogue that is fighting with two weapons...

Maybe I am being generous, but I would say that the penalties one takes for fighting with two weapons would allow the feint to deny the foe his DEX bonus for both swings of an attack that was made with two weapons. As such I would grant sneak damage on both swings

However, if the character has multiple attacks (i.e. - BAB +6 or higher) I would say the foe retains his DEX bonus for other attacks. So, NO sneak damage for second, third, other attacks.

Right. You'd feint, deny them their dex bonus, and get an extra attack, but sneak attack damage only once.

To buchw001: Actually, according to the official FAQ, you get sneak attack damage anytime the target is flanked or denied their dex bonus, "no matter how many attacks the rogue makes". My question was a bit more specific than what was in the FAQ however.

O.K. here's my question...

If the reason you get the extra attack is because the foe is denied DEX bonus, why wouldn't you get sneak damage on an attack where the foe is denied DEX?

It's a shame after coming up with this build that my DM had a global cataclysm that destroyed all the Blink rings in the world.
