Reaper minis too expensive... now I've heard it all. Exactly on what do you base this? Too expensive compared to what?

AIR when I looked at prices they were around £2.25/$3.50 for a single unpainted miniature. I can get em4minis (Crystal Caste in USA) very nicely painted figurines for just over £2 each (£10.99/set of 5), and they include 5 free gem d20s with most of the boxes. They sell unpainted minis for £1 each. I might consider paying £1.50 for an unpainted 28mm figure, I'm not paying over £2.

BTW re my unwillingness to pay much for minis - being a bargain-hunter, back in March I ordered $70 of Chainmail minis from SVgames ($40 for minis, $30 p&p to UK). They were supposedly dispatched on 22nd April, but have never arrived. They don't seem to want to refund my money, either. Don't think I'll be ordering from them again.

S'mon, I normally get reaper minis at my local gaming store for $2.50-2.99 (US) for the standard ones. $3.50 seems a bit steep, but I suppose since you're in the UK, that's the reason . EM4 minis sell here for $20.00 a box (I think), that's $4.00 each. Personally, I don't consider that a good deal, since I think the ones I've seen have been awfully painted. I suspect that's a simple matter of taste though. Personally, I'd rather have an unpainted mini that I can paint well, then a painted one that looks shoddy.

Now, other then odd deals from SVgames (whom I do not recommend), minis for $2.00 dollars or less are unheard of. Reaper is by far the cheapest. Citadel minis sell for around $9-12, for a single individual mini. A huge rip-off in my opinion. In my view, Citadel minis tend to be overly cartoony (especially their huge disney-esque hands and features on non-humans); but I must admit they are very well cast. Anyway, sounds like it's a tariff/shipping issue overall.

P.S.: Sorry to hear about your problems with SVgames. I DID finally get my order, though it toom about 3 months . So, hang in there.

Now thats true, it is very hard to find nicely sculpted Modern figures!

I have seen a few modern military types that are alright but not much past that. Maybe they could make some mini versions of
Pozas' modern counters

Try the Street Violence range from The Foundry . A little expensive, but nice.

I have to say, the Foundry modern minis are great. I picked up 3 packs and I am very happy with them .
