D&D General "Forever DM" - choice or lack of alternatives?

Back when I was a forever DM I thought it was by necessity.

Then I had my second GMing burnout and when I got back into gaming six months later, I made a commitment to PLAY as much as I GMed. These days I play in twice as many games as I GM. Turns out it wasn't ever a necessity, I just didn't know how to look for games.

I prefer in person. I prefer to run - but also like to play a little. But I'm the only one running for either my groups most of the time, although each has someone who can run one shots.
