Forked Thread: Scotley's Tomb of Horrors 3.5 Continued

Jillian Tealeaf, Rogue9, AC25,FF19,T17, HP32/37, F+4,R+13,W+5

Jillian shrugs and starts heading back to the hall of murals. Once there she pulls a coin out and flips it. She notes the side it landed on and picks it up. She moves to the skeleton holding a red sphere waist high. She then searches for any sign of traps. Next, if no traps are found she will examine the skeleton and red sphere more closely. Otherwise she will deal with the trap(s), first.

OOC: 1=heads and black; 2=tails and red (1d2=2)

After a bit of clean up it becomes clear that this is a gem of seeing. An unusual one though. It can be used for one minute at a time. It can only be used 12 times and then it will shatter.

OOC - yup just treasure

Ballista makes her back through the tight passage to the mural covered hall, after scooping up as much of the 3000g worth of diamond dust into a belt pouch as she can.

[sblock=Fin]Having wandered to the edge of the camp during the night to answer a call of nature, Fin found himself teleported to the bottom of a very deep shaft. The only way to go was up. After climbing for what seems like hours he has reached a point where there a small niche in the wall of the shaft he has been climbing. A circular pale green disk fills the back of the niche.[/sblock]

Sorry for missing this post...

Fin will cautiously walk over towards the disk, taking time to search the floors, walls, and ceiling for any potential dangers. Once there, he'll take a coin and throw it against the disk to see if anything unbecoming happens to it

[sblock=Fin]OOC: No worries, the post got lost in the chatter. It took me some effort to find it even knowing it was there. :-)

Searching carefully, you discover that the disk appears to be threaded into the wall. If turned it should move away from you based on the angle of the threads. Tossing the coin results only in a coin lost down the shaft Fin has just climbed. (Roll a 20 or better to hit to catch it on the rebound if you like.).[/sblock]

It appears that you have exhausted the possibilities in this little room with the Gargoyle statue unless anyone wants to sacrifice more hard earned treasure. Searching reveals no exits other than the little shaft you entered through.

Fin will cautiously turn the disk, hoping to be freed from this place

[sblock=Fin]With a considerable effort at first, Fin gets the disk turning and it moves away from him slowly as it turns. Suddenly, it topples away from him and falls perhaps six feet to a stone floor with a loud crash that can no doubt be heard all over the dungeon.[/sblock]

As the group leaves the gargoyle statue's chamber on your way back to the hall of images and disks you hear a very loud crash of stone on stone.
