Fizzlewikk's list for Lady Alustriel

Hey there all, I posted a list of things that I think we could all make use of in the IC section for our trip. Just for the DM, the following things come from the Arms and Equipment Guide:

bolt cutter
hacksaw
stonebreaker acid
collapsable grappling hooks

And, just to make it clear the "expert lock-picking tools" are masterwork theives tools.

Obviously if anyone else can think of anything to add please do so. It doesn't hurt to ask for the moon and get just a slice! ;) (Hmmm.. should have asked for flying carpets.. LOL ;) )

Breezly,

Just wondering if you saw Fizzi's post on the last page of page 4? (the big long one talking about mounts and perhaps a covered wagon)

Really I think we would need to see the map of where we are going to determine what route we'd like to take. If it looks like we're going to be doing alot of mountainous travel, we're better off with just pack animals and no wagon. If it looks like we could travel about 90% of the way there without having to hike up into mountains, a covered defensible wagon might be a pretty good choice.

As for our "cover story", just how common are "adventuring groups"..? This too would depend on where it is we are going, because we might wish to do the "travelling merchant" thing if it's possible (with wagon).

I'm up for either way really. If we travel along the roads I think we should pose as merchants. If we chose to travel by way of water or the southern route, I think utilizing just pack-animals would be our best bet. The roads sound more "safe", but the southern route could be more "fun" in getting there ;) hehe.

What does everyone else think?

Yep, I saw it. Depending upon the route you take, Alustriel will provide suitable mounts (Light Horse) for the trip. Going through the southern reaches of the Nether Mountains would be very interesting..but I will caution you that I am a very, Let the Dice Fall Where they May DM. As long as you as a group understand that there are some battles you should walk away from, and in many cases, run very fast away from, you can go where you wish. This is by no means a linear adventure. I have enough to go with the flow.

Adventuring groups are very common in the Silver Marches. Almost as common as merchant groups.

Did Alustriel reply to the diversionary group suggestion I made? I figured that 1 or 2 groups ahead of us with green-looking bracers would go a long way towards disguising our group.

She is taking it under advisement right now actually. ;)

Awesome map Breezly!

This really is starting out as a great game, I hope everyone wishes to stay comitted to it! :)

Just a question or two though, In my last post on page 4 I had asked if I could do a Sense Motive on the old man when he responded saying that he was "no one of consequence", but never got a reply about it..?

Also, if it's possible, I'd like to see just a little bit below what we are currently being shown on the new map, as this would show us what we'd be going into if we went the "southern route". If that would be too much trouble though, don't worry about it.

With seeing the map as it is, It *does* look like like our best bet would be to take the road towards Sundabar. We don't have to actually *enter* Sundabar though, we could just skirt around it and cross the river without entering the city. From there we could follow the Fort Road for a little while. If we are worried about being on the road itself, we could go off of it and stick closer to the edges of the mountains, using their edges as a guide and just following it untill the Desert is in sight and then cut south following the foothills of the mountain again untill we need to start climbing to look for the tower..

And, if adventuring groups are very common, we could just simply pose as an adventuring group. Perhaps the "diversionary" group announces that they will be travelling by river and stopping in Sundabar to re-provision. This will (hopefully) throw "enemies" off and provide us with enough time to get ahead of them! (them being the diversionary group).

(also, Breezly, I emailed you a bit about a possible mount for small fizziwikk :) )

Sure, I just don't have that map with me. Who doesn't have CC2? As we get into combat, I am going to be creating maps with that. I will send out a sample so you can all pick out your 'miniatures' for the map.

As for your request sent in email, got it. I just have real work to do sometimes so it takes a bit to get back to you. ;)
