Getting a thread stickied

Tequila Sunrise

I'm starting a thread called Collected House Rules for folks to put up their varied HRs for all to see. I'd like to have it stickied, but I'm not familiar with board protocol. Should I just assume that if it becomes popular, a moderator will automatically make it a sticky or do I need to do something like contact a particular mod?

Many thanks,
TS

Stickied threads are usually reserved for board business and announcements. There is no set policy, though.

Mind you, if it is popular enough, it won't need to be stickied, because people will keep on bumping the thread. Also note that folks who want to can subscribe to the thread or bookmark it for later perusal.

Basically, TS proposes a catch-all thread for HRs that aren't feats, classes or races. IMHO it's a good idea... though perhaps we should consolidate those other threads first?

It would be for reference, not popularity. :)

Hm. he question - it islikely to become too large to be useful as reference without search? If you need Search to find what you want, then it doesnt all need to be in one thread.

Honestly, threads are notthe optimum storage form for a collection for reference. You want a wiki, or something...

Maintained how, other than me adding links as others post them?

That's exactly how -- by finding a sucker[/u] kind volunteer who will do the drudgery of updating the top posts. :)

It's the sort of time-commitment many will shirk. Including me.

I don't follow. Why do I need to find a volunteer to edit my own post?

Oh! I thought you were volunteering to do more than that. Sorry, misreading on my part.
