Giants of Legend

For those of you buying cases of Giants of Legend miniatures, can you recommend somewhere to buy a full case? I've heard that when you buy by the case you have a better chance of getting a good distribution of rares and rare huge miniatures. Are there any stores that sell miniatures by the case online, and if so, do they sell the case sealed so you know they didn't cherry pick booster packs with the dragons and other rares out and just send you 12 booster packs with the nonrare huge miniatures?
I will second gameoutfitter.com. I have made many purchases there. I am also a little biased because I am right next to one of their distribution centers so I always get my stuff on the exact release date. :)

I have also purchased cases from here: http://www.iconusa.com/online/D&D_Giants-of-Legend.htm

I recommend both. And cases are certainly the way to go. 2 cases usually net me nearly a complete set every time. With a little trading at maxminis.com I've been able to complete all 3 sets with relative ease.

I bought two packs just to see what it was.

Got the cloud giant in one set and the fiendish t-rex in the other. I was more impressed with the fire giant king and the frost giant, two size large creatures.

I agree that the sets are getting better. The price is very good for what you get.

In Case A:
1 Warforged Titan
1 Behir
1 Storm Giant

In Case B:
1 Huge Red Dragon
1 Huge Gold Dragon
1 Glabrezu

I must have gotten case C as my case had the following Huge Rares
Huge Red Dragon
Huge Gold Dragon
Storm Giant

I think the observations people have had are really just a statistical fluke.
The fact that there are only 6 different Huge Rares and 3 appear in each case means that there will be lots and lots of cases that have the exact same 3 huge rares in them.

I got a Behir but it is missing its head! I wrote WOTC but I have not heard back from them.

Back in October I got a rare Vadania, Druid figure without her sword-above-her-head arm. I called WotC Customer Service and talked to "Jeff". He put me on hold for a little while and came back with the following info:

Mail the damaged miniature with a small note including your return address to:

Wizards of the Coast
Product Replacement
1801 Lind Avenue SW
Renton, WA 98055

It took a few weeks but I did end up receiving a brand-spanking new replacement figure, complete with sealed polybag.

I can't attest that this is still their preferred method, so you may want to contact them directly to verify. At this stage I'd hope that have something up on their website. <shrug>

Hope that helps. Now, if only my preordered cases would arrive! :(

This got me thinking and so I did the math. With 6 huge rares there are only 20 different possible combinations of 3 huge rares in a case possible. Assuiming a conservative guess that they produced 20,000 cases that would mean it is possible that there are 1000 of each type of case. Given the limited number of options it is easy to see how multiple users can post on message boards that they have an identical case pull (assuming you are only counting Huge Rares) as another user. Given my own experience I know that there are more than just 2 combinations of Huge Rare cases in existance as my case did not match the A or B example above.

I only ordered a half case, but it arrived today. I was very happy with the results:

Huge Gold Dragon
Bullette
Nightwalker
Cloud Giant
Tyrannosaurus
Formorian

King Snurre
Lord Soth
Red Wyrmling
Frost Giant
Minotaur Skeleton
Manticore

I am lovin the GoL action!

Has anyone from Canada tried ordering from gameoutfitter? I was poking about their site last night and could get it to accept my shipping information. just wondering if anyone else had similar problems or if anyone else from Canada has a successful transaction there.

I recently got a case of Dragoneye from them. It took a couple of weeks, but it got to Ottawa eventually.

If you look at the bottom of any page on their website, on the left of the bottom bar there is an "International Orders" link that will describe the process required.

Bought 1 pack today (for the low price of $14) at the local gaming store.

Figures of note:
Storm Giant
Lareth the Beautiful
Quasit

The Storm Giant is awesome. Really amazing how big these guys are. Lareth is a really cool looking figure, very well painted and the quasit is nicely detailed as well.

I would have bought more, but they only had one pack left. :(

Also, I found Dragonseye and Archfiends packs there for $8.00 each. Bought one Archfiends, although it yielded nothing impressive
