Grizzled Veteran

As far as the D12 hit die goes, that was most likely the only part I was uncertain about. A d10 would be fine in my opinion and might make it seem more of a "fighter" class.

Their final ability definatly has to do with who he is talking too. If its just some farmer then he probly would not get the bonus's. Ultimatly all real role playing decisions are up to the DM. But with any solider, guards, bards, or anyone with some martial knowledge, I would think he should get the bonus's. Also, when attracting followers they would definatly have heard of him, since he would be attracting military people.

On a side note, the "Might makes Right" feat just posted on the Wiz' sight would be a really cool addition to this in my opinion, cant remember if it was for orcs only or not tho.

I suppose my point on Legendary Campaigner was that if you were, in fact, a legendary campaigner but you were a loremaster... you might still get that advantage. Anyone of legendary notoriety should gain a significant bonus when dealing with people aware and affected by their reputation.

As you can see from what I did, I think the d12 is better than the Toughness bonus. It streamlines the whole greater hit point angle by not requiring modifications to existing rules.

Also, I'd take Gather Information off the skill list. While veterans undoubtedly do develop some social skills, I think its best represented by them dropping some cross-class points into the appropriate skills.
