D&D 5E hafrogman's Hoard of the Dragon Queen (full)

^ I thought those rolls were for us to move between where we came out of the tunnel and the back of the church wall.

Honestly, though, I just recorded a critical glitch in a Shadowrun game on 13d6. Not only do you have to roll 7 "1s" to start the glitch, but you can't have any of the remaining six dice come up with a 5 or a 6. I managed it, go me!

Yeah, in general trust me to ask for them when I want 'em. Not a big deal in the circumstance. Nobody's really going to see Carad and Hunter. Not when Morgan and Venn are clomping around :D

Not sure to discuss things like this here or via occ in the IC thread, but Steve Gorak, since Jeni is likely going to "go bear" and stay that way for some time, could Carad get some healing from her? 10 goodberries would go down well. :)

To everyone else, looks like it is now or never, as soon as the wandering group starts to turn the corner!

Yeah, I think we may even take the risk of trying to hit the south group before the other group is fully on the opposite side of the building. I'm a bit worried about that battering ram. I don't want to wait to clear the guys on the south, only to end up inside immediately fighting the guys from the north, plus the wandering patrol that would likely be following them in after that. We also need to allocate time to convince the villagers to let us in (which may require Jeni to stay as elf Jeni for this first fight) and explain to them what's going to happen.

Yeah, it's my mistake for not specifying that Jeni casts goodbery every night before going to bed. The duration is 24h, so she would have 10 on hand. hafrogman, would you allow her to have these available? If not, she'll recast it, to heal those that require it.

Also, I think it would be preferable for us to do some ambushing (i.e. lure some enemies in the brush). We'll be vulnerable in the open, and I'd rather have Jeni get a few arrow out, with cover, and stay in elf form for some rounds, so she can heal those that require it during combat. She only has 1 wild shape left, so once she uses it, she will be unable to cast. She still has 3 1st level slots available, and 1 second level...
Cheers,

SG

Yeah, I'll allow you to have some already handy, since nobody decided to take a short rest while you were "safely" in the keep.

I think the problem here is that we don't really have the numbers advantage. It would be a tall order to try to take any of these groups out in one round (particularly that roving patrol) and they have no reason not to retreat and meet up with the rest of their people, then come hunt us down en masse. If we can ambush the group at the door, we can probably at least get inside the church after that if the other opponent groups are alerted. Carad could keep Scree outside to keep us abreast of their movements.

I guess I have two ideas, whether they are worth any merit is debateable.

1. Wait for the circling group to go around back and attack the front group. By the time the circlers get back we should have done them in (2 min is a long time for combat rounds). Then:
a. We pull back and go around the back (avoiding the cirlcers) and eliminate the back group
b. ambush the big group

2. Hunter "attacks" the circling group to see if he can draw them off while the others clean up the two groups and rescue the civilians.
