D&D General Hasbro enters gambling deal using Dungeons & Dragons intellectual property

I am pretty sure this is aimed at exploiting teens (the fresh and exciting new demographic.) Teens and online only gambling mix like nitro and glycerin (lots of damages.)
Don’t worry, capitalism and the benevolence of the free market will sort that out for the best as usual. Heavy regularion and restriction of gambling is for unpatriotic commie whimps, right?

It seems that most people here are not so much against gambling itself as they are disappointed with how the D&D brand is being used.
I think the broader discussion of gambling and the problems/benefits related to it are largely not on topic for the forum. Not meaning to shut down conversation, but just why the topic is kind of self-limited.

Hasbro just wants licensing fees. They're not making or selling online gambling sites or booze themselves.
This is what's going on. The value in D&D is increasingly becoming the brand. If I saw a D&D slot machine, I'd probably spend some money just on a lark. I feel the same way with the pinball machine. When I was a Gen Con (a while ago now) we used to grab the beer that was branded from the Con right up the street. It was fun.

There's always going to be stuff I don't like that gets attached to the game. Heck, there's plenty of parts to the game I don't like, so I just enjoy what I do like and let others do likewise.
