Help: Evil DM sundered my wand :(

Make your wands out of andamantine sticks with +5 enhancements to increase HP/Hardness even more.
To be practical try making your wands out of iron and making them extra thick.

Make your wands out of items that are already enhanced to +5. Ah HA! Instant savings.

I like Thanees idea. Glove of storing.

I'd take to carrying round a non magical wand shaped stick... Wave it around menacingly while casting spells... The next guy who gets into melee with you might waste an action sundering it? :)

And if someone doesn't kill the fake wand during your next few fights... then you can call the DM for metagaming. Turn on the waterworks, throw toys, etc... :p

I'm not all that keen on the sunder rules and strongly dislike the 'attacking a held object' stuff. Fortunately it hasn't come up often enough to get really irritating yet.

Yep, ive picked up the pieces, through the way the DM described the bizzillion splinters that flew through the air when it was knocked out of my hand, i dont like my chances. :)

Seriously, i will get it repaired if possible after all if was a gift from the DM a few combats ago. :)

I wonder if he decided that the wand was unbalancing, and decided to use an in-game solution to reneg on the gift.

Wand unbalanced

Wand of true strike, makes it alot easier to hit with my ranged attack spells. Im playing a Necromancer. I do have the spell in my spell book, it just means im taking up a couple of my spell slots to take true strike.

I Like the gloves of storing idea as well. And i may even pick up a few wand like sticks and see what happens. :)

Thanks everyone for the input.

I really like THIS idea. Definitely get people to waste attacks attempting to sunder or disarm useless sticks!

You can also get your hands on the Hardening spell from Deities and Demigods or Magic of Faerun and add a permanent +10 Hardness to all your items. However, it is a 6th level spell.

This is why every wizard should have a gauntlet.
So you threaten.
Never, ever know what you can avoid by taking an AoO

I believe you still need IUS to threaten with a gauntlet. Spiked gauntlet is a light weapon though.

Right. Good idea. So, take a move equivalent action to make a opposed Bluff check (with a +2 circumstance bonus, if you have at least 5 ranks in Knowledge (arcana), Spellcraft or Use Magic Device) against your opponent's Sense Motive check (with the same possible Circumstance bonuses). If you succeed, your enemies may think you're using a real wand for a round or two, until it's obvious you're not.

hang and chain and another wooden stick of the chain .. nunchuck.. AOO :)

Some real measures: Have a dummy wand in the other hand... 50% chance of survival... Have really long sleeves, keep wand hidden... not all wands need to be pointed at target, so keep them hidden.
