HOLY CRAP! Please tell me I'm wrong.

Rogue Sneak Attack damage

This is my take on the sneak attack damage!

If the situation warrants it (opponent is effectiveley denied its dex bonus to AC), then the rogue can apply sneak attack damage to all its attacks that round.

However, I think I read somewhere that a two weapon wielding rogue can only apply the sneak attack damage to one of his two weapons. But, he can apply the sneak attack damage each round as long as the target is denied its dex bonus.

From the PH:

Improved Uncanny Dodge (Ex): At 5th level and higher, a barbarian can no longer be flanked; he can react to opponents on opposite sides of him as easily as he can react to a single attacker. This defense denies a rogue the ability to sneak attack the barbarian by flanking him, unless the attacker has at least four more levels of rogue than the target has barbarian levels.

It is correct.

Ummm, you originally said

Remember that barbarians/rogues, etc. with Uncanny Dodge can't be flanked

To which, Mekabar replied:

That is not correct. Uncanny dodge prevents a character from being caught flat-footed, but he can still be flanked. There is a feat called 'Eyes in the Back of your Head' in Complete Warrior, which denies flanking attackers any flanking bonus, but it does not prevent sneak attacks either.

So Mekabar is in fact CORRECT that Uncanny dodge (the one you originally mentioned) does not prevent flanking. It is Improved Uncanny Dodge which does that.

Wow, I'd like to know where you read that, because it is certainly not true. Not in 3.0 or 3.5.

Do you really like to pick nits this much, or are you just out for a nice morning troll? :)

I don't think it was a troll.
This condition is called "addiction to precision".
It's very useful in a D&D rules forum, while it might be a handicap in other social circles if it's not turned off ;)

"It's not too broken, golems eat rogues ... so do ghouls come to think of it."

yep ghouls do, I speak from experiance.

Its nothing too much to worry about. in 3 years of playing my rogue/warrior/shadowdancer I have only ever got in 1 full round of attacks that were sneak attacks. Getting into a position to sneak attack most foes that can be sneak attacked is dangerous and I dont have the HP to risk it. And the other thing to remember is that it is the potential damage. it is possible to get just 9 damage on 9d6. I did 3 sucessfull attacks 2+1 from expert tactician. my damage was 3d10 +15 + 9d6 (bastard sword 1d10 +5 damage from str and sword+2 ) I did 38 damage. TOTAL. 1's and 2's everywhere. Potentially I could have done 99

But it was so worth it, wasn't it? :D :D :D

In the EB thread, I brought up just this point. Rogues can really, really, really dish it out when the conditions are right.

They have a really, really, really hard time taking it - even when multiclassed with a warrior-type class.
