How long after June 6?

We won't kill a campaign to start a new just because some new rules are out. So, it will depend on when the current campaign comes to a halt.

I'm not killing my current 3.5 campaign. The question was when do you plan to play.

Five out of the six people in my D&D group wants to DM Keep on the Shadowfell.
Well, the thing to do, of course, is to farm them out to other gaming groups that aren't sure about 4E yet! It'd be kinda like a pyramid scheme. :)

I will flip through Keep on the Shadowfell, and if I like it, I will buy it and try to scare up a group to run it the following weekend. That will be the tough part; none of my old gaming group is the least bit interested in 4E.

It'll probably take me a month to flesh out a good set of on-going and linking adventures for my next big campaign.

My players expect a certain level of expertise in their adventures, and if I don't deliver, I'll get linched!

I WILL BE ON A PLANE THAT DAY!

I have to remember to take the earliest flight so I can drop by my FLGS and pick up the books on the way home. Maybe if the flight is early enough I can even run a game.

Heh.
Dungeons & Dragons on a plane! Sounds like a movie title!

I don't even know if I get the books remotely close to the official release date. I will try to get this done soon, I suppose. But it might still take weeks, and as much as I want to play the game, I also hope that our current campaigns will reach their conclusion before the other DMs start their 4E campaign.

I've pieced together an elite team of lapsed players and newcomers from my boardgaming group who are raring to try the new D&D. We'll start on June 17 with KotS with characters they design 'cause the 10th is our boardgaming night.

I've even got a 10 year old kid coming who has never played -- it's an awesome responsibility, being someone's very first DM :)

As for myself, probably a week or two after the books are released. This is due to the scheduling of my group. I imagine I'll devour the three books in about as many days. I am currently working on the details of my campaign that I can work on, without the rules.

amazon claims I'll get my books on the 10th of June. As I'll be in the middle of a three month leave off of work, I'd imagine the first game would fall between the 11th and the 13th. sunday is our regular D&D night, in which we alternate campaigns. One of those campaigns will convert o D&D quickly, the other might not any time soon. So possibly the 8th (assuming other players buy the book rather than wait for Amazon to ship it), possibly as late as the 15th. I wouldn't expect any later than that.
