In any case, it hardly matters; all other characters of that (or even a slightly lower) level are nigh-invulnerable to magic anyway, if they try to be.

edited to clarify:
Of course, against much weaker opponents, you're still more than effective.

Not against EPIC magic, they aren't. No save, no SR, no hope, just pray you have some way of surviving utter destruction, however many times the wizard can pull the spell off in a day. Heh.

(of course, I have NFC what the spellcraft DC to CAST that sucker would be ... but I'm sure a Wiz(100) could find (or manufacture) a way to make the roll, and MAYBE even live to tell the tale ...).

With a maximized Time Stop, a haste spell and having taken the Auto Quicken Spell three times, an epic mage can effectively cast FIFTEEN spells in a single (technical) round.(for this example he has no multispell feats, but add 5 per round for each slot in Multispell)

TIME STOP!

Fireball, Fireball, MAXIMIZED Fireball, ENLARGED Cloudkill, ENLARGED Firestorm, ENLARGED Meteor Storm, Earthquake, lather rinse and repeat, finish it off with a big ol' Raise Dead.

A.K.A. how to take out an army single-handedly, in LITERALLY the blink of an eye.

now Imagine if a mage created an Epic time stop that lasted EVEN LONGER!!!

So, for the 100th level Wizard, my answer would have to be: ONE.

It's an epic spell, and utterly destroys everything on an entire plane, other than the caster and his or her equipment.

IOW, the 100th level wizard only NEEDS one spell. :D

....and the impossible instance where gods do not intervene..

Personally, I've always held that (Instantaneous) spells HAVE no duration, per se, and so cannot be cast while in a TimeStop effect. Or rather, they can't be cast offensively. Otherwise, the statement that they are "invulnerable to your spells and attacks" is pointless, n'est-ce pas?

So anyway, your spell progression would (should) go:

[Fail, fail, fail, *wait*, fail, fail, *wait*], etc.

IOW, the Cloudkill and Earthquake woudl only happen when the Timestop ended, but the others would happen immediately -- and have no effect.

To rule otherwise, IMO, makes Timestop a brokenly powerful spell, deserving of "promotion" to Epic Spell status.

(A longer timestop is entirely possible, btw, without epic spellcasting: just use Extend Spell on it a few times.)

A 100th level wizard IS, for all intents and purposes, a God -- effectively, if not literally.

It states in the spell description that any spell you cast while in time stop can be left to take effect when normal time flow resumes. HA!

No, Angcuru, it doesn't precisely say that.

Time Stop precisely says:
While the time stop is in effect, other creatures are invulnerable to your attacks and spells; however, you can create spell effects and leave them to take effect when the time stop spell ends (The spells' durations do not begin until the time stop is over).

And as I said, I personally rule that "instantaneous" means "no duration" -- it happens, poof, and it's over. Ergo, it cannot be "left to take effect when Time Stop ends".

As I said -- to do otherwise is to render Time Stop brokenly overpowered, IMO.

YMMV, of course -- but I'd be very surprised if it did.

Wait wait.. take that Epic Two-headed Spellweaver Wizard, then make him a Symbiote with an Epic Advanced (Awakened?) 12-Headed Laernian Hydra Wizard who ALSO has Multiheaded Casting, then give the Spellweavera Vorpal Sword and an item that grants Great Cleave.

Spellweaver Quickened Time Stops, Hydra submits all 12 heads to a coup de gras. Spellweaver sever-greatcleaves all hydra's heads. 1d4 rounds later, hydra has doubled his headcount (har har) to 24.

Timestop Ends, now all 24 Epic Advanced (Awakened?) Laenerian Hydra Wizard heads begins casting spells Quickened, Hasted, Multispelled, etc, while the Two-Headed Spellweaver also does likewise.

....but then, of course, the Half Celestial Gelatinous Cube Cleric would just fly in and pwn them all.

Because it's just so cool.
