I probably own about 50 dice that I have for my own use. But I have also taught D&D at summer camp, which involved buying an extra 12 cheapo sets and a few odds and ends. And, of course, once there is an excuse to have extras I started buying nicer ones for myself (nothing fancy, I'm just particular about the weight a d20 should have in one's hand and want my other dice color coded by type so that I never have to think twice about which one's which) and retiring the others to be used for camp or new players, or just to be given away.
At least with the pandemic I'm not regularly meeting in game stores for 4-8 hours and browsing dice and minis for the sake of buying something and the place near my house that sells all dice 5 for a dollar has been closed.
