I play a 4e campaign at home once a month, and run a 3.5e campaign at home one a month. And, run / play in a 4e campaign almot every day at work (during lunch). So, I put down "more than once a week" :)

I play almost entirely online.
Oh yeah, I kinda play online a fair bit too  I just assumed the poll was talking about offline, as online is rather hard to determine in "per week" terms :)

Why? My group meets regularly over Maptool every Tuesday morning (well, my time, we're on two different continents) every week for three hours and has done so for the past four or five years. My Sunday group meets 10 pm Sundays (again, my time, this group is on three different continents, so I have NO idea when they are) and plays for a bit more than three hours usually.

Or are you talking about something like DDO or other MMO's?

These days I run two games and play in one; each tries to meet weekly, so that puts me firmly in the "more than once a week" camp. :)

As for punctuality, it's a good night if everyone's here less than half an hour late.

Our long-standing rule for quorum is if it's a 2-player game both must be there, and for any higher number we'll usually sail if half or more of the players are there.

I typically game for 3 hours or more on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Sunday. Monday is Hackmaster Basic, right now Tuesdays are L5R 3E, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and the Sunday game are all Castles and Crusades.

All the games, except the Saturday game, are due to SKYPE and Maptools, and I have been gaming with most everyone in those groups for two years or longer, just with different RPG's.

For example, the Tuesday game has traditionally been my (meaning I run it) C&C game for over 3 years. However, I was given a break for a few weeks by my daughter volunteering to run L5R for us. Week after next I take back over.

I boardgame on a weekly basis; my campaigns work on a fortnightly basis.

Weekly: Thursday night wargaming
Weekly: Friday afternoon boardgaming
Weekly: Saturday day & night boardgaming

Fortnightly: Friday night D&D - Greyhawk
Fortnightly: Friday night Star Wars Saga
Fortnightly: Sunday afternoon D&D - 4E published campaign
Fortnightly: Sunday evening Serenity RPG

Cheers!

Our schedule says the game happens every week, on Sunday afternoons. In reality, holidays, illness, and the general pressures on weekend time for people our age mean we play, on average, every other week or thereabouts.

We're about to start a new, once-a-fortnight, non-D&D mid-week game as well. We'll see how that goes.

Looks like my twice a month rate is the most common (currently 40% of votes)! Funny, back in high school we played every school day, and I remember summer holidays in Edinburgh running endless games up in my room. Got a lot of deity-level PCs back in those days, I don't see that anymore!

yeah back in my school days we gamed 3-4hr per session; 5 sessions per week; 50 weeks per year; for just shy of 11 years.

and starting in 1999 we gamed pretty much every 2 weeks. but

nowadays it is when we can. so it is down to about once a month.

Since the poll asked specifically about D&D, my answer right now is: "I don't play, I just read the books," but I have a gaming group that plays Champions once per month, and I might have a monthly D&D game starting up soon with another group.

I would kill for a weekly or every other week game, but it has proven so difficult to get schedules to work. With traffic/travel distances, weeknights are shot, and weekends get so booked up with family and other things that often trump gaming.

well i answered lots, then realise it was meant to be D&D, not any rpg

to those who find kiddies eat into game time, they age eventually, then dont wanna spend any time with ya (even a kewl dad like me!!), so game time potential rockets

its marvellous

I voted twice a month. That is mostly cause when we play we usually play 3 out of every 4 weeks sometimes we hit every week a month. But then when a game ends we tend to take a couple of months off before we start playing again. So we come closer to averaging about 2 times a month. Since we also will sometimes take breaks while we play for varies RL reason, vacations, end of college examines etc.
