I graduated!

Yeah, i don't post here as often as i like (not enough dragonlance topics!) but still, i had to share that after five years, i've finally graduated from UCDavis with a BA in english =)

I bring it up here because this website, along with eric noah's old site, introduced me to 3e shortly after i got to college, and both helped me get through my grueling experiences in university and managed to keep me from graduating on time =)

Off i go to join the ranks of the unemployed! (know anyone who is looking to hire an editorial intern? i'm not the best creative mind in the world, but damned if i can't fix other people's things =)

Like the others, congratulations!!

However, I know of no wonderful opportunities. The company I work for is hiring at several locations, but mostly in the hourly, manual labor, categories. Salaried job openings I'm aware of are more in the engineering, manufacturing, and industrial/project management fields.

Good luck, I hope you find something that you enjoy and that pays well (in that order - my experience tells me that the former is more important than the latter, but YMMV).

Congratulations!

In your quest for a job, try looking for work at a university. It's the best thing I ever did, I only wish I had done it sooner. Or, since you are looking for editorial work, try publishing. There are lots of university presses out there, or you can try looking in NYC, where all the big publishing houses are. I did it for a few years, and while it's hard work, it's a great place to be for a short time.
