Boy the Rogue sure is overpowered... way too many skill points. Rangers and Paladins got hosed, and the bit about attacks of opportunity is pretty confusing... Maybe it will be a little clearer when I have actual miniatures in front of me.

You know, I just got one, too. However, there seems to be some confusion.

Mind doesn't have a rogue. What's that? Is is a variation on the thief class I have in mine? Attacks of opportunity seem to be missing as well.

In fact, there doesn't seem to be any method for generating statistics at all. They refer you to another book (the Dungeon Master's Guide). What's up with that? Are they requiring you to buy two books to even generate a character?

Did they finally do something new with the layout or do the page numbers still alternate between odd and even numbers?

I'm not buying it until the next edition comes out. That way I am sure they won't be making any more changes to it, and all the errors have been fixed.

I am still waiting for D&D eXtreme.

The feats got completely and utterly hosed. There's one that - get this - gives you +3 hit points. Ooh! And one that gives you a +1 bonus to AC - against one person!

Honestly, I don't know how this stuff ever makes it to print. This clearly wasn't playtested.

Does it have two-bladed swords? I just saw Episode I, and I really hope they catered to the short-lived martial faddishness I feel coming on.

Is it not a little superfluous to buy PHB 1 when you already have PHB 2 ? How is the magic system? Does it mesh well with Magic of Incarnum for example?

And, there's an error in mine. Of nine alignments, they're all either the best or the worst. Can't there only be one best and one worst?

I heard that they were bringing back the Barbarian, Cavalier, Thief-Acrobat, Assassin and half-orc from 1st edition. Are they in the phb?

They combined them all and cut the power in half, then changed the flavor. It's a pretty weak class. I think they call it "Bard."
