Still no great spot to land a fireball, Duvrael sighs. However, he decides to just go for it and starts casting his spell, his finger aiming for Kahru.

At the very last moment, the yuan-ti remembers how the barbarian saved his life the day before, and he redirects his magic to a chair close enough to the two jotuns Kahru is fighting, so that they will be burned and his ally will not.

Still, the wizard is unsure if it was the most tactical decision.

OOC: Fireball! :) Duvrael casts it at level 4, aiming at the intersection of squares AD51, AD52, AE51 and AE52 (see map below). Hill Giants 1 and 3 need to make a DC17 Dex ST or take 9d6=32 fire damage (saved means half damage).

Snarf Zagyg

Notorious Liquefactionist
As Doc get moved around, he hears the voice in his head. Damnations. More of that magic. Still, the boulder monstrosity was right there. Doc made himself still, very very very still, as he concentrated on the boulder that was in front of him and loosed two bullets.

Legend
Gimlak shielded himself from the giant's attack and then thrust a psychic spike into the giant's mind. He wasn't impressed by what he found in the brute's head but it was no matter; he wrecked whatever he came across. With nothing left of the giant's mind, his body fell to the ground in a heap.

Kahru danced with two giants as they continued to thump him with their clubs. He ducked behind one to avoid the other as Duvrael caused the area to burst into flames. The giants spun around in a panicked rage, patting themselves out while howling in pain. Kahru hacked Waythe into one of their legs, and the giant stumbled, but did not yet fall.

OOC: Gimlak did 11 to HG4;, killing him; Duvrael did 32 fire to HG1 & HG3; Kahru did 17 to HG3 who did not fall prone. HG3 & HG4 did 58 total to Kahru (down to 28 from rage); Question @Tonguez - did you mean to provoke an opportunity attack from HG1 as you move to the other side of HG3? Because you will. (Haven't rolled it yet, though). @Maxperson Kaligan needs to go, and I'll resolve him, Doc, Colonel, and Donnell then.

Legend
Kaligan's sword bit deep enough to kill the burning giant, who collapsed to the floor in a smouldering heap. The giant who remained behind the table leveled his enormous crossbow at him and fired. The lance-sized bolt struck Kaligan in the shoulder and spun him around with great force. Donnell shot back at the brute, but his arrow deflected off of the crossbow.

Across the room, the Colonel faced off against the old bear. It seemed likely that the bear might have left him alone, were it not for the young giant who egged it on while thrusting a spear at the Colonel, who ducked. The bear stood and lunged forward, trying to grab at the Colonel with both paws. The soldier struggled to escape, getting a shallow rake of the claws, as the bear stumbled away from the Colonel's sudden burst of lightning.

Doc held his ground and fired two shots that blew chunky pebbles out of the rock creature. Who stepped back, rolled into a ball, and tumbled toward Doc like a charging buffalo.

OOC: Kaligan killed HG3 but took a bolt for 33! Bear woulda critted Colonel if it weren't for his dodging! Still, bear did 12 to Colonel, who did 10 back (& pushed him away); Doc did 34 to Galeb Dhur, who rolled into him for 22.

The bear bats the Colonel and gets blown back by the force of lighting, which rakes the Colonel's face and arms before it appears to dissipate.

Yes, he is wounded, but his concentration has held. He withdraws to relative safety behind a wooden column, and continues to think about the two stone giants, screaming in their temporary banishment.

OOC: DC10 Concentration save, with advantage (warcaster) = 13. PASS.

Move 35' south to AM64.
Action: Dodge (disdavantage on attacks).
Concentration continues on banishment.

If the hit in melee, reaction for Storm Wrath (When hit by someone w/in 5’, use reaction for 2d8=15 lightning damage, DEX save DC 18 for half, and bear is pushed 10' away (no save).

Tonguez

A suffusion of yellow
Even through his red rage the barbarian zealot could feel the heavy blows of the giants pummelling him, so he was greatful when Kaligan intervened bringing one of the giants down to the floor in a smouldering heap.

Still the remaining assailant remained a danger, and Waythe still surged in his hand, hungry to slay again. So driven by the dance, Kahru the StormBear bellowed out in raucous laughter as he struck up at the bloated belly of his remaining opponent

Annoyed that one of the two giants that were burned by his previous spell has not died yet, Duvrael casts another spell, a simple one, and with a flick of his wrists he directs one of the flames now burning in the room towards the jotun threatening Kahru.

As the hill giant tries to defend itself from the barbarian's attacks, however, its head is not where it was a moment ago and the flame just misses it. The yuan ti wizard curses in Primordial, an uncharacteristic show of emotion for one of his kind.

OOC: Casting the cantrip Firebolt at HG1:
1D20+9 = [1]+9 = 10 (miss; natural 1)
for 2D10 = [8, 9] = 17 fire damage

Does the natural 1 have any consequences?

Still maintaining concentration on the invisibility of the starspawn outside.
