D&D 5E (IC) Fitz's Folly

OOC: As in post 3053, she wants to follow. I don't have a clear sense of who's where what with the spoilers, but she'll walk through fire (but not lava) if she has to. If there is Earth to Mold, she has the cantrip (flavored with rapidly melting ice).

And she's curious if this is a stone floor, dirt, or something else.

I wasn't sure if I should put this in OOC thread or as a DM
Chrysagon and Qawasha found themselves singed, but were quickly relieved of the worst of the sensation by being half-doused in luke warm water. They found themselves in another small chamber, its damp walls covered with living snails and oysters. It was neck-deep in water and its walls featured sculptural reliefs of tidal waves in the act of destroying coastal cities and swamping ships. A merfolk skeleton was embedded in the far wall, like the human one in the first room. It clutched an iron sconce fitted with a burning red candle that cast the chamber in a dim, eerie light. The water that they were half-swimming in appeared to be draining out from somewhere below them.
Does the scene on the wall seem to relate to any myths that Qawasha is familiar with?

I'll wait to post IC after Kobold goes.

Miss Imogen wasn't keen on the idea of getting her dress singed, even if the "lava" was mostly a ruse, but she trusted Qawasha (at least as far as she trusted anyone). The tabaxi had lingered, sniffing about warily, and Ghoruk had silently waited for the last person to go, stoically standing rear-guard.

Chrysagon and Qawasha had disappeared much like Ussal had done before them, but she had watched it happen more closely and it did, after all, appear that they had not, in fact, been utterly immolated to ash.

Sighing, she took Weed into the room and covered it up (worried that it might burn worse than others) and waved to Ghoruk and the Tabaxi to join her. When everyone was inside, huddled together and doused in as much water as they could spare (supplies were running low) she nodded to Ghoruk, who twisted the torch that was in the hand of a skeleton. The skeleton's mouth opened agape as if it thought that they were all insane (they probably were) and the lava-like substance poured from the ceiling, raining down on the stone floor under their feet.

Somewhat scorched, they arrived in a room, similar sized to the one they'd left, but this one was half-full of rising water. The walls were covered with living snails and oysters, nearly covering sculptural reliefs of tidal waves in the act of destroying coastal cities and swamping ships. A merfolk skeleton was embedded in one wall, clutching an iron sconce fitted with a burning red candle that cast the chamber in a dim, eerie light.

OOC: I'll just get everyone together. The water switched from draining, when Chrysagon and Qawasha arrived, to raising again, pouring out from holes in the walls. Everyone who has not yet done so must roll a dc20! DEX save with advantage (for preparing) or take 22 fire damage (11 on a successful save). I'm going to give Weed Evasion on this roll, for hiding in Miss Imogen's petticoats. It's not quite Chrysagon's Gorget, but that's only because Weed isn't Tiny.

"Ussal is not here, perhaps he went through that hole?

Qawasha points towards the hole where the water had been draining.

"I can help us to breath under water." He begins to hand out reeds that he'd collected from the swamp earlier.

Qawasha will cast water breathing on everyone unless something else happens. I'm not sure how wounded people are so maybe we will need a different spell. If I'd known there was water, I could have cast it as a ritual. I suppose it will take less than 10 minutes for the room to fill?

Yes, please do! Chrysagon said to Qawasha.
Just before you arrived, the water was draining from somewhere down there, he said pointing. Maybe it's a hole big enough to go through.
Chrysagon dived down to try to see or feel an opening, if the water is too murky. He came up spluttering and said I could not find anything down there. Maybe the decorated walls can give us a clue...

Miss Imogen attempts to chill the falling rock, taking the heat into herself and causing a part in the curtain of lava, but it seems not to work. She attempts to go through the falling molten rock (is that what it is?) shrouding Weed in her robes. Carrying her bow as well, though, was too much, and some of the substance burned her, and she screamed.

She is exhausted, and the smell of burned hair nauseating, and she wants to give up, though she knows that she can't. Within her arms, Kapalue purrs with appreciation, and she feels relief.

And suddenly she finds herself in water. Living water, she notices, as the creatures move on the wall. Water that is fresh, and nourishing, at least to some. And suddenly, she knows what to do. She remembers the lobster folk they had met, and in particular Um'Qo of the Aldani. She pulls the hat that she'd been given with from the side of her pack, and puts it on. She takes a straw from Qawasha and gives it to Weed, keeping it in her arms. She hurries towards the skeleton in the wall (is it real? carved?) and examines the light source.

OOC: Presume Move Earth is unsuccessful.
DC 20 Dex save with advantage = 16. FAIL, 22 points damage.

"Ubtao did not indicate that it would burn so badly. I am sorry, my friends. "

He clasped his hands together in prayer. When he opened them, there were ten magical berries. Similar to what the group was all very familiar with.

Casting Water Breathing and Goodberries.

Edit: I'll hold off on casting water breathing until we the last moment. Probably best to search the room in case there's another way out.
