D&D 5E (IC) Fitz's Folly

Qawasha

Qawasha heard his friends coming to the rescue. He had been thrown into a deep pit, guarded by an enormous wild bird. As he recovered from the ordeal of the flight, he had observed the bird and had come to the conclusion that it was not a trained animal. It was another prisoner.

As his friends fought the Pterafolk, he spun magic from the spirits of the wild and he spoke to the bird. He explained that he was not a threat, and he pledged to free the animal - to return it to its home in the wetlands below. They agreed to work together. Qawasha climbed out of the pit, and he and the bird worked their way toward the main nest to see what they could do to gain their freedom.

Feeling elated from his victory, Rodrigo rushed to the other's aid. He was feeling winded, and knew he had to strike fast before his strength faded. He hoped the new foe wasn't as resilient as the other.

Taking advantage of Harb distracting the petrafolk, he stabbed it in the flank

[roll]1d20+6[/roll]
[roll]1d4[/roll] (for bless)

edit: syntax didn't work, let's try again... :/

OOC: well that didn't work - looks again like it's going to be a multi-post post :/

attack roll [roll0]
[roll1]

damage roll if landed [roll2]

OOC: the 1d4 was for bless, so total attack roll is 18 which I'm assuming is enough to hit.

The blade slipped between the ribs of the petrafolk and it shrieked. Had it hit the heart? Rodrigo wasn't sure. As the creature tried to twist away he wanked violently on its wing, trying to bring it down so Harb could bash it with ease.

OOC2: foe must make a DC 14 14 strength save or fall prone. If prone, Harb has advantage against it.

At least the large one with the club was down. Still, Harb found himself facing off against another of the creatures almost immediately and this one had managed to nearly gut him. Fortunately, Rodrigo was there, attempting to knock the creature down. Seeing his strategy, Harb came in with a downward thrust with the end of his staff, hoping to crush it's frail body against the floor. He then followed up with a devastating kick.

OOC: Quarterstaff: 1d20+5+1d4 9 1d20+5+1d4 13 1d8+3 8

Unarmed: 1d20+5+1d4 18 1d20+5+1d4 11 1d4+3 6

Not sure if the advantage is a given or not. So I rolled in such a way as to give the easiest read.

She sees her target raise a wing, or is it an arm, to block her feathered shaft, and she sees the arrow pierce the wing membrane and disappear from sight. The sound the creature makes tells her it has struck true.

As Harb and Rodrigo step forward, and she retreats to cover weed, and draws another arrow and lets it fly, past her companions fighting the remaining flock of pterafolk.

OOC: Hit points now = 23+5 THP. Not using Fighting spirit (1 use left).
Move to I10.

Action: Attack vs. J13: Using sharpshooter and bless, but taking -2 because of half-cover from her allies: [roll0] plus [roll1]. If a hit, damage = [roll2].

Harb & Rodrigo vs Pterafolk 2

With a solid thrust of his rapier and a yank on its wing, Rodrigo brought the Pterafolk down. Harb pinned it with his staff and delivered a killing blow with his heel to the creature's surprisingly humanoid rib cage.

"Ha!" Exclaimed Rodrigo.

His elation fell as he saw Chrysagon on the ground. How?! Dellrak was now in danger.

"Dellrak! Just go defensive, I'm coming! Harb, pull the paladin back!"

He hoped that he would not be too late...
