Harb seemed to have recovered for the most part, from his injuries, but he was more sluggish than usual and seemed to be having trouble breathing in the thinner air at this elevation.

Stealth roll was in other thread and was a 10.

Dellrak gratefully took a rest when they were clear, patching himself up to nearly good as new. Then he followed the others back to the city, pausing at seeing the winged monkeys.

“Wot in bluidy ‘ells…” the dwarf muttered, pulling out his heavy crossbow, just in case.

Legend
Nanny Pupu's Winged Monkeys

As quick as Rodrigo was to find a hiding spot (and Weed nearly always looked just like any other bit of jungle foliage) the others were too late. The winged monkeys turned their beady eyes toward the Sticks and began to make a riot of noise - screeching and hollering. They jumped up and down and pointed, and from further into the ruins, the old woman's voice could be heard calling to them. She said, in a thickly accented version of the common tongue, "What have you found, my pets?"

Then, as she began to come around an old ruined wall, she called out, "Is someone there? Come! Let Old Nanny Pupu see you! You must come close. These eyes are not like they once was."

Harb ducked into hiding as he realized that the woman had been alerted to their presence. He did his best to find a spot where she wouldn't be able to see him right away herself while hoping that the monkeys wouldn't betray his presence to her.

Ancalagon

Dusty Dragon
Rodrigo sighed - it didn't seem that stealth was going to work... and he wasn't about to attack an old lady on sight.

From his hiding spot he answered

"We are the Sticks, we just rescued a companion taken prisoner by the flying lizard-folks. We have no quarrel with you and merely seek to leave the area in peace".

The old woman smiled, showing yellow, misshapen teeth. "Had a run-in with the Terror Folks, they did. Old Nanny doesn't like the Terror Folks much, she doesn't. Didja kills some? Dead Terror Folks is good Terror Folks, they say."

Though her blood-shot eyes seemed keen as a viper's, she made no threatening move. Instead, she stood there softly swaying from side to side as her monkeys gathered on the walls and rotten huts to watch.

Miss Imogen begins walking across the clearing, keeping her distance from Nanny and her pretties. "Those of you not hiding, feel free to follow me." she says to her companions.

Fradak

Explorer
"Ok." said Chrysagon, still intrigued. Ten days have passed now and still no clue. Kelemvor didn't send him in this doomed jungle to draw maps!

He whispered to their guide.
"Qawasha, who is this old woman? How did she manage to survive alone in those ruins? She must know something about the Death Curse..."

FitzTheRuke

Legend
Qawasha whispered back to Chrysagon, "I do not know, my friend. But I do not trust her. It is not the skull-paint; that is somewhat common for wise folk of the jungle peoples. It is... something else about her."

As Miss Imogen attempted to lead others to pass her by, the old woman said, "Yes, yes. You may walks through Mbala. Old Nanny won't hurts you, pretty girl. Don't you minds the monkeys. Cheeky things is safe as flowers."
