Elsbeth

Elsbeth's first swing at Fastus missed by a mile. Fastus's own swing at her legs connected solidly and knocked her legs out from under her. She fell hard on her behind, definitely leaving a bruise or two. As a reflex, on her way to the ground, she swung her stick at Fastus once more, not really expecting to actually hit him.

ooc: AOO= 1d20+1=14 I doubt that will hit.

He saw the flailing branch coming at him with record speed, propelled by Elsbeth's own fall. Time seemed to slow down for him as he tried to twist his whole body RIGHT and out of the way, long hair flailing, but it was TOO LATE- And then the air in front of his chest grew thick, actually *deflecting* the blow away from him that all important extra bit with a trailing blue flash.

Time resumed its course.

"Uh?" Oh right: the Mage Armor! "Niiice! Thanks Elli."

And then he remembered they were in a bout: "I mean: take THAT, foul fiend?"

The muscular young man gripped his 'mace' two-handed way above his head and swung it down towards her with an encouraging shout. This was FUN!

OOC: Yeah, with MA we're both at 16 AC right now. :)

I'm assuming Elli tries to get up next so that's his AoO above: 1d20+4+4=15. Drat! So close.

"Is that... your interpretation of authentic goblinoid dining?" asks Suldrel with a combination of reproachfulness and teasing. The elf grabs another spoon and reaches in scoop up a bit to taste. His expression is inscrutable as it passes through his lips. "Yes, more salt," is all he says. However amusing it might be to let his sister spring her pure concoction on her friends, the fact is that they were guests and that meant at least some effort must be given to being hospitable.

"Eyah!"

Sachiko whirls around in time to watch Suldrel taste her concoction, and for a wonder manages to hold her tongue as he does. His pronouncement brings a scowl to her face, and she turns back to keep stirring.

"I just PUT more in," she complains. After a moment of chasing carrots around with the ladle...she hadn't chopped them up it seemed...Sachiko added slyly, "So you've been watching Fastus and Elsbeth? I think there could be something between them, don't you?"

The elf backs away a step, as if recoiling in horror. A bit of colour comes to his very pale face as well. "They are just outside the door, Sachiko," he breathes. "Besides, they are your friends, and I try not to get to worried about that sort of other peoples' business."

Suldrel casts his gaze about the cookpit area and then ask, "Is there anything you want me to do?"

"My friends are your friends," she replies. "And no. Oh wait, I want to put some meat in it, but the only meat that's lying around is that salted stuff. So you could go find something and kill it and gut and skin it and cook it a bit, and then cut it up and throw it in if it's not too much trouble. I mean...I'll still do most of the work..."

She sloshes a bit with the ladle to emphasize that.

"...but if you want to take a few minutes to pitch in, that'd be fine too."

Suldrel gets an impish grin then, and she adds, "They'd be good together though, right? There's a spark."

"I suppose there might be," says Suldrel. "In any case I would both hunt and stay if I could. If we need some meat though I should probably get on that immediately. I sorta think the game around here has gotten wise to our family's hunting prowess." The elf goes to grab his spear and takes a step toward the door. "You sure you want some fresh game?" he asks, a bit unsure of whether his sister really wants him to stay and help things as they are.

Wireth considers a moment, then offers, "If we don't wind up chasing our tails looking for them, we might as well tell them what's going on now as later. Maybe they'll know something we don't, or have better ideas on what we might want to do. Might as well have the plan--or time to sleep on it--sooner than later, I suppose."

With a smirk, he adds, "Besides, between the one who smolders and the bouncy little one, I imagine folks would have a hard time missing them if we ask about."

Elsbeth

Elsbeth was not surprised when her wild swing at Fastus missed. What did surprise her was the oncoming branch wielded by Fastus rapidly approaching her head as she was getting up off the ground.

"Yikes!" she yelled as she half jumped, half fell, out of the way.

This was clearly not going well for her. She could only imagine what would happen if she did this well against the goblins.

Without much thought or strategy, she thrust her own stick towards her friend's belly.

Jakira spoke up, “I can go find them!” The feline eidolon bounded off down the street. While Jakira was not the brightest, he was reliable and much faster than Jariah.

Following afterwards with Wireth, Jariah laughed lightly, “Well, we can just chase after his tail. I can keep in contact with him during his search and not worry about checking the same places he already tried.”

OOC: Where is the bout taking place?

"Whoa!" Thought or no thought, the thing was coming straight for his plexus! Fastus tried the side-turning trick again, and again her thrusting 'mace' skidded across the glowing blue pond of her spell!

"Almost got me that time too," the young blacksmith grinned before holding his branch aloft. "But the light of lady Elli protects me! None shall pass! (No blow shall pass?) Something like that!"

And then it was back to wild swings left and right as he aggressively advanced on his friend, his own branch starting to smoulder in his hand in the excitement of it all!

Attack = 1d20+4=13.

OOC: Since we all seem ready to move to tomorrow (and TS should be back soon), want to compact the rest on the fight into a single opposed roll Graybeard? If you do, here's my roll for that (+3 for their diff in strength): 1d20+3=18. Ooh, hard to beat. :)

We're at Suldrel and Sachiko's cottage, somewhere near a wood outside of town.
