Wireth shrugs.

"Buying up better gear to deal with the rest of those X marks might be wise," Wireth offers to Sachiko, "But true enough, we've no idea if whatever scared these things so much is still out there, and if a trip to the city and back again wouldn't give it too much of a head start.

"Jariah has a point. Let's start with the goblin. See where that gets us."

"Sachiko knows it works quite well," says Suldrel, shifting uncomfortably. The elf even appears to be on the verge of sweating. "We really should go back to town, Little Sister. We can investigate these marks tomorrow. I will not let anything get in the way of that: I promise. You know I have my own dour sourpuss act I can break out if they anyone tries to press the issue."

"In any case, I think it a possibility that whatever caused all of this ruckus is somehow attached to these objects we have found. If we take them with us I do not think it will be leaving the area any time soon."

"Some of us were weakened earlier by the goblins so it would be best if we rested overnight."
Fastus had a sneaking suspicion she probably meant HIM!

When Suldrel finished speaking, he thought: Burn it! So close! Still: "Oh and think of the story we'll tell Ameiko! People LOVE cliffhangers!" Then the young blacksmith grinned wider, looking straight into Sachiko's eyes: And we three can always sneak away on our own if they decide they don't want to come after all, right?

Elsbeth

Elsbeth understood some of the others wanted to continue exploring and find out why the goblins were so scared. Under different circumstances she might agree with them. Now was not the time to rush off. They needed to prepare to face whatever else was out there.

"We spend the night back in Sandpoint to rest. It will also give us a chance to ask Ameiko what she thinks might have scared the goblins. We can use the coins we found to purchase better equipment. I would like the opportunity to review some books. I might be able to learn more about what else is out here that made the goblins so frighgened."

"The answer to that isn't in books," Sachiko whined...she could sense which way this was going, and it wasn't hers. "It's out there!" She pointed at the door.

She took a deep breath, and Suldrel could almost feel the tantrum brewing behind her forehead...but she managed to restrain herself this time. Her face settled into a semi-permanent scowl, and she muttered, "Fine," then busied herself in the marginally more pleasant work of getting the loot together for the trip back to Sandpoint.

Fastus patted her twice on the back: it won't be so bad, you'll see. Then he was off: "I want the fan when we're done with it. It'll make a great GIFT for- someone, right? Great bowing!" he complimented as he passed the warden, basing that on the all the arrows sticking into green skin -- and none into pink either!

"Now where did we put that goblin? Dead goblin, headless goblin, dead goblin... AHA!" Fastus will try to awaken the goblin if he isn't conscious already. First with a few slaps, then by dumping water over him.

Grabbing the guy by his scruffy armor and lifting him into the air: "Hey. You. You're our prisoner so talk or... die, I guess?" Probably should have thought this out beforehand?

OOC: Encouragement/Guidance: Sachiko has +1 on the next task she cares to try her hand at. :)

As Sachiko turns away from him to busy herself with the looting Suldrel frowns deeply and sadly. Inside he hated every time he had to restrain her enthusiasm. But if there was one duty he took seriously in this life it was keeping her safe. He just knew that in the days ahead many risks would be taken that would test that dreadfully. But at least they could be managed as tightly as possible. And resting before venturing out again seemed like a very manageable sort of risk.

Jariah shrugged, “Well, we were only asked to come here and deal with the Licktoads and I think we have done that. I do not think they really care back at Sandpoint why the goblins were causing problems, they only wanted them dealt with.”

With no one confessing to understand the goblin tongue, Jariah followed Fastus out of the hut to point out were they dumped the prisoner. She commented, “We tried to talk with him before, but he refused to use the common tongue. That was before Jakira knocked him out. So unless someone actually knows the goblin language and did not speak up, we could very well be at an impasse on the interrogation and just have to take him back to Sandpoint with us.”

She did not try to stop the young blacksmith from trying though.

Meanwhile the gold grubbing eidolon supervised the gathering of the loot to take with them to Sandpoint. He mentally reported on the progress to his mistress outside.

[sblock=OOC Note]So I checked and our goblin speaker was actually Analisse the wizard that dropped out. But Elsbeth has 2 languages that are still undetermined from game start. Maybe she knows goblin?[/sblock][sblock=Mini-stats]Jariah Taliaferro

Wireth gave Suldrel his own pat on the back.

"Not a sibling person myself," Wireth confided, "But I can see why that one's hard to say no to. I do think it's for the best, though, and with that bundle of energy, I don't expect we'll be resting on our laurels back in town either way."

Wireth turned to helping the others gather and pack the loot, keeping an ear open in case anyone needed him to stand and look menacing. He rather expected the talking magical panther was probably scarier, but he was more than used to people finding his own features naturally unnerving.
