"Loot from one of the caravans they raided, right?" supplied a mildly puzzled Fastus, not really seeing... and then he did: "Oh! They opened the thing and then... just LEFT it all here! That IS weird! Did a demon come out of it or something...?" Can't forget the blown gates, right? And the goblin ash circle -- Oh, and the cowering warriors in their huts too. He looked about, left and right and even up: "And where's all the OTHER stuff they looted from the caravans?"

But the first thing was by far the most interesting bit!


OOC: Can Fastus remember what was reported stolen in those goblin raids, Tailspinner? (including anything about a red chest or a Tian caravan being attacked). Knowledge local: 15, if appropriate.

Elsbeth sees that the ring and cloak show as green, one of the wands and the potions show as blue, the other wand shows as red and the arrows show as orange. When called into check the new items she reports that none of those items show any signs of magic. Upon further inspection of the map on the back of the fan, Fastus believes it to be a map of Brinestump Marsh. Although the map is messy the goblin village as well as four other points of interest are marked on it, each with an "X" to mark the locations.

Fastus cannot recall anything that would correspond to the odd chest and items within.

Jariah Taliaferro, Human Female

Jariah had nothing more to do until they finished gathering the treasure they were going to take back with them. She noticed that Elsbeth recast her spell and continued to concentrate of the items she had proclaimed as magical.

It was obviously going to take some time and the summoner was patiently waiting.

Meanwhile Jakira padded into the other room and answered, “Biting them is one thing, but I do not actually eat gobberrrs.”

"Who knows why goblins do anything, I suppose," he offers from the hidden room. "I mean, they built this bolthole, but no one seems to have even used it."

He shrugs again and rejoins the others.

"I've got a reasonably strong back. I'll carry what I can," he says. "Are we able to tell if any of those potions are of the healing sort? From what we just ran into, I think having that kind of thing on hand is going to be, well, handy."

"Hey, it's BRINESTUMP marsh on there!" Fastus exclaimed, pointing to the fan-map. "See? This line's the Foxglove river south of here, and Hag's point's HERE to the north. Sog's bay. And here's the goblin village under that black X!" The map was a bit messy, but the goblin village and four other points of interest were definitively marked with an 'X' on there!

Meanwhile Jakira padded into the other room and answered, “Biting them is one thing, but I do not actually eat gobberrrs.”

"So you just wanted to rip off their ears or something?" Mystic panthers have STRANGE hobbies... "Just help me search this nest-thing of theirs and then we can go ask our prisonner some questions?" This is burning EXCITING! If his leg didn't throb so much it'd be the BEST DAY of the summer so far! "Maybe they left some of their eggs behind or something?"

A boy can dream.


OOC: Fastus (with Jakira's help?) will search the pile of blankets and such in the other room over, tossing each item behind him after he's done looking at it so he doesn't look at anything twice.... Anything?

Sachiko, uncharacteristically quiet as she inspected the map, nodded slowly and moved her finger from the 'X' of the village to one of the other ones.

"So if this is the village...I wonder what these other ones are. More villages? Or maybe one of them is where they got this chest from."

She looked up at Suldrel. "We have to check these out!"

Upon further inspection of the magic items here is what Elsbeth has determined:

6 potions (2 of them are potions of cure light wounds, cannot determine what the other 4 are at this time)
2 wands (1 is a wand of cure light wounds, cannot determine what the other one is at this time)
ring (cannot determine what it is at this time)
cloak (cannot determine what it is at this time)
11 small arrows (4 are +1 arrows, cannot determine what the other 7 are at this time)

Sachiko's cloak is a cloak of resistance +1.

Searching through the pile you find nothing of value. It was apparently just a bed of sorts.

"Yes, I suppose I agree," nods the elf. In truth, he rather would prefer just going back to the reasonably quiet daily grind of working in Sandpoint, given all this danger and such. But Suldrel had a feeling deep in his gut that his sister really needed this. To him she was family; a family of Snowcaster elves. To everyone else though she had the look of a Tian woman. And this mysterious chest and its contents was definitely Tian in orign. There is no was he could expect Sachiko to not explore the other locations on the map. "But first we head back to town," he says firmly. "Maybe whatever destroyed the gate has something to do with this, and we are under some kind of time pressure to find these other places on the map. However, since we cannot know that for a fact, the only sensible thing to do is retreat to safety, rest up, and prepare adequately. We have a lot of coin coming our way, remember."
