Description of current room: The walls of this room are decorated with numerous poorly preserved horse and dog heads, along with other trophies like broken weapons, brinepickled bodies of brutally slaughtered furry animals, and other bits of grisly ephemera.

Sachiko finds that the door is unlocked. Opening it reveals the next room and yet another closed door.

CURRENT MAP

Description of next room: There is a big, nasty pile of ratty blankets, moss, and foul-smelling animal furs in the middle of this room. The walls of this room are decorated in similar motifs to the previous room.

Suldrel grabs his spear and heads into the next room towards the door. The elf pokes at the makeshift "bed" with the butt of his spear, then moves to open the next door. If the goblins have any "pets" hidden in there, surely the party will be able to subdue them. Best get it over with and get out of here.

Jariah sheathed her dagger and held the acid flask as Sachiko and Suldrel opened the door to the next room and started investigating. She rose to her feet and followed to the doorway.

Seeing the bedding and Suldrel poking around in it, she waited to be sure there was nothing stirred into breaking cover.

"Mayhap the goblins could hide more valuables under their version of a mattress. We could search it more thoroughly later."

"I am ready for you two to check that next door as well."

A little disappointed at the humdrum contents of the room, Sachiko proceeds to the next door and gives the little handle a wiggle in a testy sort of way.

(Just use the last Disable roll if it's locked :))
 


As Suldrel pokes at the bed nothing jumps out. He moves on to the next door which is open. Opening reveals the final room. Within is a single beautiful red chest. There also seems to be a discrepancy in the makeup of the building and you note that there is about a 5'x5' area unaccounted for.

"It's their nest," pointed out Fastus like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "It's creepily QUIET back here though, right?" Gloomy too, although you could SORT OF see where you were going from the little cracks in the wood here and there and all... Maybe that's why Proudstump's staying away from the place?

"NOT the dragon-hoard room from that story Ameiko sang about last week," frowned the lion-haired one when they found the empty room with the single chest. "What was it called?" And, "Eh, maybe we'll get all the DEADLY TRAPS though, right?"

Hope springs eternal.

"Want some help with it, Sachi?"


OOC: If so, Aid Another on Disable Device: 1d20+1=21. Well, that's actually funny. :D Does Sachiko get double the help for a 'critical' or something?

Jariah hung back a bit and let Sachiko do her thing with jiggering and such. Someone needed to watch over Elsbeth if she was going to focus on examining the magical items. With the second room being empty of goblins, it was looking like they had finished off all of the buggers.

She offered, “Yes, I would be wary of traps. These goblins might not be very bright all of the time, but they can be cunning.”

Sachiko's eyes widen as she sees the chest, and her heart pauses a bit, before skipping ahead a few beats.

"Where did they get THAT?" she breathes rapturously. "Pirates must have buried it, and the goblins dug it up!"

She doesn't dart to the chest...no, not this time. She savors each step, and examines the chest minutely...almost caressing it...before settling down to try to pop the lock.

When Fastus comes over to help, she puts him to good use...holding the chest steady and keeping a few of her tools at hand so she can use both hands to work.

As Sachiko examines the chest she notes that it has delicate etchings of cranes and frogs playing along a beach. Upon examining the lock she can see that it is not locked nor are there any traps. Inside the chest is found: 6 shuriken, many gold and silver coins, a long pin and a fan.
