Jariah let the matter of what the creature was or not was drop as the most important thing was that it was dead and could not attack travelers along the road any longer. With Suldrel already looking to follow the creature into the swamp, she made to follow bringing up the rear.
She left Fastus and Wireth to decide about the fate of the corpse, not wanting to be given any more dirty looks for joining a conversation uninvited.

Fastus and Wireth secure the corpse in a tree and quickly join the others who had already set out in search of the creature's lair. Suldrel is able to easily follow the tracks. The going is slower then had you been on the path. After a while you come to a fairly wide waterway. Suldrel is able to locate a good place to ford it and luckily it only gets about 3 feet deep at its deepest. Once on the other side Suldrel easily picks the trail back up. Finally you get to a place where a number of track converge. This must be the place but you cannot quite figure out where the creature laired.

"You want me to carry you across?" Fastus offered Sachiko and Elsbeth with a grin.
OOC:Knowlege local then perception: 1D20+6 = [9]+6 = 15, 1D20= [15] = 15. Not too bad.
Sachiko barely even hesitated before splashing into the water, giving Fastus a smug grin as she did, then directing a spray of water at him with a well-placed cupped hand.

Jariah and Jakira kept their eyes alert and looking around. Being a bit more experienced in the swamp appeared to have helped them.
Jariah stuck with the rangers to help them sort out the tracks, but the feline eidolon was not much use in aiding their efforts.
