He looks at the toad, and thinks in his direction, "Take us to your Queen. We may be able to give her aid."

Oyaviggaton Main Tunnel

Oorapp the Ice-Toad hopped off into the large circular tunnel, heading in a counter-clockwise direction. The icy tunnel curved to the left and went steeply downward. It was slippery, and the deeper he went, the harder he was to see as the air grew thick with an icy fog.

At the deepest point of this stretch of the tunnel, before it began to climb again, another tunnel split off to the right, going deeper still. This was where Sooty the Familiar had seen Giants frozen in walls of ice, with Kobolds working to polish down the ever-building frost, to keep the Giants on clear display.

Imani's agents would have to slip past them or confront them. A mere half-dozen kobolds seemed to pose little threat to the group, either way.

OOC: Marching order? Group stealth check if you want to slip past. Shouldn't be too hard. Lorenn is still far behind, going the other way if someone wants to go back him up or if Kalorn wants to call him over. I'm okay with splitting the party, as long as we get moving again.
 

Ooc: I think that we should try to recall Lorenn.

Kalorn is *terrible* at sneaking but he can use misty visions to create the illusion of an empty corridor (ie provide visual cover) for free.
 

Lorenn

As he followed the circular central tunnel clockwise, Lorenn came to a deep, foggy room on his right. Peering through the fog, he could see looming out of the shadows, a full-sized Longship, its sail raised and frozen in a curve, as if it were being blown by a strong wind. Eko flew in nervously and had a quick look around. She had not gotten far when she spotted an enormous squid, looming out of the fog as if it were attacking the Longship like the stories of a Kraken. It too, was frozen, though unlike the Giants of the other chamber, who were frozen behind solid walls of ice, this was petrified with frost - preserved, but free.

While Eko was discovering this, Lorenn received a message from Kalorn, requesting he catch up to the rest of the group.

OOC: There's more to see in the room, but it might be dangerous. [MENTION=6805410]Fradak[/MENTION] will have to choose if he wants to risk Eko or bring him when/if he leaves to catch up with the group.
 

This cave looked too dangerous to enter alone and it was just a reco after all... Good excuse. But as Lorenn doesn't like to be told what to do, he keeps sliding along the corridor to explore a bit fruther.
 

Mord approved of the plan to meet the queen and followed along with the rest. Slipping past the kobolds should be fairly straightforward for him, but as an added measure he used his magic to change his clothing to a color closely matching the ice walls all about them. Hoping to camouflage himself as much as possible.

OOC: Disguise self, not sure if it counts for any kind of bonus, but he's trying anyways.

Sesto followed Mord and the rest. The toad seemed ok with him and if they managed to convince the queen to help out, or at least not interfere, then the mission would become easier. But still hard, Sesto mused to himself.
It might be hard sneaking past the kobolds but those little creatures might be too busy cleaning and polishing the ice that they might not notice. If worst come to worst, a smaller group of kobolds *not* sharpening their weapons... must be easier to beat!
As he walked on, he hoped Lorenn would heed the call and come back. Sesto also said a quiet prayer wishing Lathander would guide his steps so that he would not slip on the icy slope are make too much noise when they walked past the kobolds.

Mord, Sesto, and the others

Mord slipped past the Kobolds, blending in with the icy tunnel. He followed the toad until he came to the bottom of a slick part of the tunnel that sharply rose over twenty feet. The toad hopped up, paying little heed to those following. Then Sesto scraped his shoulder on a nearly-invisible ice protrusion on the wall and the ice-on-metal sound echoed through the corridor.

The Kobolds in the room responded immediately, shouting and rushing toward the circular tunnel.


Lorenn & Echo

Lorenn came to an Icy tunnel on his right while a dense fog filled the air. Eko flew forward, scouting ahead into a mid-sized chamber that was far colder than even the terrible chill that was everywhere else. The cold seemed to issue from a yawning pit in the floor that twisted down into fog and darkness. Above the pit was a heavy iron hook that was anchored in the ice of the ceiling. A slippery, sloping walkway extended around both sides of the pit, connecting the entrance to an exit tunnel across the room. Carved into the ice of the walls were crude images of white dragons in flight. Echo flew across the pit to investigate the exit-tunnel while Lorenn carefully moved forward to have a look at the pit.

Suddenly, an Ice-Troll loomed out of the fog behind him. It seemed impossible that the creature should have sneaked up on him, but there it was, aggressively rushing toward him.

OOC: Let's see if we can kick-start the enthusiasm for this game with a little fight.
