D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

Titus, standing against the bore and rider, pulls from deep within and draws forth the cold power inside, covering himself in frost that radiated from his core.

(Casting Armor of Agathys, 5 THP and anyone who hits him takes 5 Cold damage while he has it. It's his last spell slot for now.)

Dandin's heavy quarrel struck the boar-rider in the shoulder as Angis hacked the beast to death from under him. The boar fell, and shuddered in its death-throes as the big orc rolled off and clambered to his feet. He thrust his long-spear at Angis, who bashed the point aside with his axe.

Titus stood, slightly shaken from yet another near-death experience, and he instinctively surrounded himself in a magical, defensive shroud of ice that gave off a grayish mist.

The orc that had been chasing Tommi gave up as the lad disappeared from his view by climbing over the rocky ledge. That orc charged back across the road, raising a larger axe and brought it down over Angis' head. Lionel had finally found his nerve, and had pulled a crossbow out from under the bench-seat. He fired a quarrel that pinged off of the orc's axe, and it whizzed over Angis' head, missing him.

On top of the hill, Tommi found the archer behind a rock, and he scratched that orc with his fiendish hobgoblin blade. The archer cursed in orcish and dropped his bow, drawing a long knife. He stabbed at Tommi, who danced back and parried with gutter.

Round 6

With the battle boar dead, Angis was about to turn his focus on the orc boss, but another of the orcs charged at him, axe swinging, and the dwarf had to turn to defend himself, his axes swinging at the orc.

Titus - human Waterdhavian noble fighter

Dandin watched the boar go down and the rider take another strike from Titus's blade. He had to be weak, and they could use a captive to interrogate. Dandin let go of the crossbow and drew his new shawm, playing a lullaby for the hog rider in hopes of capturing him.

Sleep spell: 5d8 29
He'll try to avoid sleeping any allies while catching the boss. But he'd rather catch Titus as well than to miss entirely.

Angis and a charging orc went axe-to-axe and the orc took the worst of it, getting a large wound on its shoulder, while the dwarf took only a minor scratch as he spun at the last second.

Titus thrust his flaming sword into the orc that had been riding the big boar with flames burning the fur of the fallen creature. The orc dismounted, and threw his spear aside, reaching for a rusty sword on his back, but then, Dandin's shawm music sounded, soft and gentle over the sound of the battle. The big orc yawned, sat down, leaned against the dead boar, and promptly doze off.

Titus couldn't help but yawn, but he was happy to find himself still standing.

OOC: @Kobold Stew still Tommi to go!

The orc archer could see that the fight had turned against his little group, and while the young man before him did not appear terribly tough to orcish eyes, he held a weapon that made the orc uneasy. The orc kicked Tommi in the leg, and took the opportunity to retreat, running away into the tall grass beyond the rocky ridge.

Down on the road, Lionel gave up on loading his crossbow and he took up the reigns yelling "Yaw!"

The wagon lurched forward, and the horses ran down the last orc, trampling him under their hooves as Angis dodged to the side.

The farmer braved the scene, coming down and calling to his pig, eventually catching the animal with a length of rope.

GM: Fight Over

OOC: The fight never moved north enough for you to see it, but I wanted to share with you that I had the farmer and his wife and their ox-cart (overturned by orcs) at the top of the map:)

Tommi had stood facing the orc archer. Gutter was in his hand, and he was closing distance.

He stopped, and paused, and wondered at what his life had come to. He was on the ground, his leg sore, the orc gone. He could hear the horses down below, and suddenly the orc was no longer there. What had happened? Tommi was dizzy. He went to the cliff edge, and called down, "I lost him. Sorry. We'll have to be careful. Is everyone alright?"

He gets down on his hands and knees, and starts making his way down the cliffside to rejoin the others.
