D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

Titus shrugged off the sleepy effects of the spell, then smiled at Dandin. "You know, if you could use that spell to help me get to sleep at night, that would be great."

Looking around to make sure there were no other enemies around, Titus knelt down and began to tie up the Orc asleep at his feet.

Dandin climed down and twnt to meet Tommi, offering him a slice of goodapple.

"It's okay, you did good, he was worrying me with that bow. Let him go back and tell them that trouble is coming anyways, I say. The Doughty Daggerfordians are on the case."

Then he went to Titus and Angus, offering them eacha slice before vontinuing on to meet the farmer.

"Ho there friend! I hope we haven't come to late. I'm Dandin of the Doughty Daggerfordians and we've come to help with this orc problem. Anything we can do for you?"

He offers a slice to the man and then one to his pig even, explaining the fruits wonderous properties as he does.

The farmer, thanked Dandin for the apple-slice, and was surprised at how well it eased his nerves. The pig took the slice gently from Dandin, and stood there happily chewing.

The farmer's wife stood at the top of the rise and called, "Lewis! Are you all right? Oh you've got Esther! Those brutes was gonna take her for sure. Oh thank-you travellers, thank you so much."

She showed the Daggerfordians to their wagon, which the orcs had overturned, and the farmer got out an unbroken cask of his 'wine' - a rather strong fermentation of his own design. It was vile, but Angis seemed to like it well enough, and he drank far too much. By the time they left the farmers safely on the road south, the dwarf had been put to bed in the war-wagon, and his snores could be heard by the driver.

Despite the slice of goodapple, Angis was still looking the worse for wear as he conked out in a drunken stupor in the back of the war wagon.

Dandin offered a goodapple to the farmer's wife as well and at seeing their wagon suggested that they could likely right it for them using their horses. Once they were done and about to leave again, he went about, offering a bit of healing that he could to those in need.

It was a process, unhitching the war wagon's horses and roping them to the farmer's wagon, hauling it over and setting it right. There was fortunately minimal damage to it from being overturned, and by the time the ox was hitched and the horses were back on the war wagon, everyone was anxious to depart. The farmers were grateful, but they insisted on continuing south.

As the farmer and his wife set off towards Daggerford, Dandin waved to them yelling his goodbye.

"Fare well and watch out for more pork mounted orcs on your way!"

He turned back to the others and chuckled at the looks on their faces. "What? It just came to me! We'd better get to OUR destination as well!

They had spotted a few orc scouts on the hills and fields nearby, but none had made trouble yet and it was near suppertime when the war wagon rolled into Newfield. The hamlet was small, and nearly abandoned. The majority of activity appeared to be in and about the inn - a large, moss-covered wooden structure called the Elfwood was surrounded by two hastily-dug trenches and a creek, that formed a triangle. The creek might not have been much in summer, but it was swollen from the rain. An old bridge crossed to get to the inn, and someone had added a spiked gate to the far side. The gate was manned by two guards.
