As Lionel ran away, he could hear the orc in pursue. He glanced over his shoulder, then dropped and rolled to the left but was nevertheless struck in the back by the orc. He dropped his crossbow during the roll so when he got up on his feet again, he swiftly drew his sword. The orc was young and swung the weapon in an unsophisticated manner with little regards to defence. Lionel struck out in the orc's weak spot and the orc dropped to his knees.

Reaction in previous round for Uncanny Dodge to reduce damage by half (3).
Bonus Action: Insightful Fighting check: 1D20+7 = [20]+7 = 27 against the orc's Charisma Deception check, which the orc should fail. :)
Action: Short sword attack and damage, incl sneak attack damage: 1D20+7 = [7]+7 = 14
1D6+4+3D6 = [4]+4+[4, 1, 2] = 15
. I think this is a hit, right?
Move: to U34
HP 48/51

In the north, Lionel left his orc dead and regrouped with Escella in the underbrush under a large tree. In spite of being struck hard by her bolt, on came one of the orcs, who swung his axe at the scout, leaving her with a bleeding arm. Another orc, who had ducked her bolt, flung a javelin at her, but she danced to one side.

OOC: Lionel killed O8, Escella did 13 to O1 and then took 8 from his axe. O2 missed.

In the tent, Tommi stood up to a much larger foe. He spoke bravely, and with no quaver in his voice, but the orog didn't hesitate when he replied, "I know wot ya do, boy, an' I don't fall fer it. I'll crush ya like a rat!"

He stepped in and hacked down at Tommi with a big axe. Tommi rolled to the side as Oh-Six squealed in concern. The blow was softened by the roll, but Tommi still felt the pain roll up his back.

OOC: Tommi did 18 to Orog1 and took 20 (from 12 & 16(8, dodged) from its axe. I rolled to see how he'd react to Tommi's threats.

Down south of the mud pit, the scrum was in full swing. Lunn Dornuk killed an orc and wounded the half-ogre while Vairar healed himself and also struck the orog. Angis kicked the body of the orc that Lunn had killed to the side and hacked at an orc, swinging his battle axe in two hands, wildly. A rain of arrows fell upon the group, and Vairar staggered, nearly falling. Angis too, took an arrow, while Lunn remained luckily unscathed.

Vairar, nearly spent, held off the orog while calling out a warning regarding the shaman, in time for Lunn to duck as the shaman threw a spear at his head. The spear missed, but another, floating spear appeared in the smoke over the campfire, and it struck Lunn in the shoulder. This gave an orc the opportunity to hack a small wound in the barbarain. Then the shaman ducked out of sight into a tent.

Across the field, a rider had mounted a boar, and he rode northward, only slowing to negotiate the difficult maze through the camp's fortifications.

Tommi's eyes go wide, and perhaps a bit wild, in the tent as the axe slams into him. As it does so, Gutter pulses on his hip.

"Worth a try," he says, smiling, as he drops the last stone into his sling. With a single underhand swing, e lets it fly those few precious feet between him and the Orog in the tent. As he does so, he tastes blood, and it is his own. The stone flies past Oh-Six, which is hovering and tweeting beside him, rising upwards as it catches the Orog in the throat.

"Can you run?" he asks, as he bolts for the tent door. Staying clear of the large creature, he emerges into the light and on an impulse dekes right, and dashes around the perimeter of the tent. As he moves he reaches for Gutter, his sling falling to the ground. The rusty blade sticks in its scabbard and as he tugs at it, he looks down and fails to see the Orc Archer standing at the side of the tent. So much for escape.

With the momentum of his run he swings around the Orc archer, and finds himself so close that he can count the arrows in the foul creature's quiver.

OOC: Attack: 1d20+7 (w/adv)=23 (hit); damage = 4d6+4=17 bludgeoning (it's at 7/42).
Move+Bonus Dash 60' which I think can take him to U55 (or 56)? (W53-X55-Z55-Y57-W57-U57-U55 are 6x10' segments, including 2 knights moves)
(free draw Gutter?, so horn in one hand Gutter in the other; sling lost)

Reaction for opp attack if the archer withdraws to fire; or if the Orog is speedier than I think.
HP 19/39, AC 14.

Oh-Six: help action and then hover out of the tent and onto the roof, low and out the way?

Lunn keeps raging, but this time he focuses fully on the orog, his axe buckling the knees of the brute...but it remains standing, barely deflecting the return swing.

"AAAARRRGGGGHHHH!" Growls/roars Lunn seeing the orog still standing.

OOC: missed by one and missed killing orog by 1 (I need a magic axe :) )
it would probably be better to focus on the orc that hit him, but I hoped to open the way for Vairar to get out.

"I didn't want this early in the day, but this went sideways. Archers! Get the archers!"

Vairar calls upon the ancient guardians of his homeland and the elves of old swirl around him killing everything in their path.
Calling upon his patron, he heals again, but he knows this isn't maintainable. Looking for some cover from the archers he crouches down among the combatants raising the spear above his head, to block overhead chops and counting on the guardians to distract those around him.

OOC: If Vairar survives the round he moves so that he has full cover from the archers and going shield/hammer.

Actions: Spirit guardians: 3D8 = [3, 6, 6] = 15
Bonus: Healing word 2nd level: 2D4+3 = [4, 4]+3 = 11 ooo, nice!
Move: crouch? not going prone in melee, but maybe using Lunn as cover :)

Spells (DC 14) 4 cantrips, 9 prepared, 4/3/3 slots:
Cantrips: Booming blade, Guidance, Mending, Word of radiance, Thaumaturgy
1st (3/4): Bless, Healing word (cast 1), Shield of Faith, Wrathful smite
2nd (1/3): Hold Person, Prayer of Healing, Silence (cast 1) (+ healing word at second level)
3rd (2/3): Aura of Vitality, Spirit Guardians (cast 1)

In a moment, things changed drastically in the scrum to the south. While Lunn was going toe-to-toe with the half-ogre, Vairar summoned a group of ancient elven warriors who slaughtered most of the remaining orcs. Angis grimly finished the final orc and rushed northward toward the archers, ducking arrows as they came at him.

Viarar ducked behind Lunn, who took three arrows as he stood as a wall for the elf, while the latter healed himself. Finally, the orc shaman emerged from the tent, and seeing his fallen allies and the swarm of spirit-elves, he ran for the relative safety of the dire boar pen, leaving his floating spear to try to disrupt Vairar's concentration that maintained his connection to the spirit elves.

OOC: Lunn did 11 to Orog2 and took 3 arrows for 12 damage (9,10 & 7); Vairar healed 11 and killed Orcs 3 & 5 & Orog2 with Spirit Guardians. Angis finished off Orc4 and ran northward. Does Vairar have some way of donning his shield as a bonus action? Otherwise, he takes 7 from the OrcEye's spirit weapon & must roll concentration. More to come!
