D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

As Lionel reloaded his crossbow, he studied the approaching orc. Having spotted a weakness in the orcs defence, he took careful aim and let the quarrel loose. The orc fell hard to the ground, dead.
Lionel did not stop to consider his luck, it was probably going to end soon. The other orc was on the move and two more were charging at Escella. Lionel moved as far back as he could, trying to keep the distance to the orcs.

Insightful Fighting check: 1D20+7 = [17]+7 = 24 vs Orc's Charisma (deception). I assume that is a success for Lionel and thereby granting him use of Sneak Attack.
Crossbow attack, with damage and sneak attack: 1D20+7 = [20]+7 = 27
1D8+4+3D6 = [1]+4+[1, 1, 6] = 13
. Wow! A critical hit! Crit damage: 1D8+3D6 = [2]+[1, 4, 1] = 8
Move to W36

As Vairar and Dornuk did their best to take down the orc shaman, the four orc archers spread out and sent a barrage of arrows raining down on them. The crowd of angry orcs that had formed around them, both to protect the shaman and to defend the camp, screened them enough to make it possible for them to avoid them. Angis, on the other hand, had fallen a little behind the pack, and was open to be grazed by both arrows that were sent his way.

In the north, Lionel shot down one of the orcs that ran for him, then turned tail, trying in vain to stay ahead of his pursuit. The orc struck him from behind, but Lionel was able to roll with the blow, staying relatively unhurt.

The scrum to the south became much more vicious as a large half-ogre lunged in, knocking Vairar back with two mighty blows. The elf saw stars, and sound of the battle returned to the area. The other orcs surrounded Dornuk as the shaman slipped away, heading for a tent. Angis threw down his crossbow and pulled his battle-axe, chopping down one of the orcs with a deft swing. He stomped into the fray and hacked hard at another orc, wounding the brute.

OOC: OrcEye2 Disengaged; Dornuk took 7 (3 I assume); Angis and Lionel both took 7 as well (I assume Lionel takes half too with reaction?); Vairar got clobbered for 15 & 11 & lost concentration. Angis also lost concentration on Hunters Mark, so I had him cast it again (level 1 spell slot) and attack with his battle axe (2 handed) - he scored two crits! Killing Orc6 with 20 damage (his mark was on that one) and wounding Orc7 with 14 damage. I should roll for him more often!

OOC: Half damage while raging, yes. Don't forget that the 15' area around Dornuk is difficult terrain - not so easy to get out of :)

Raging half-orc swings his greataxe over the shoulder, cutting down the orc behind him and clearing the way for Angis. The great windup ends with a wild, powerful, unstoppable swing into the orog.

While it looked impressive, the beast only grunted its hide armor cut, a metal clasp broken, but the flesh underneath unmarred.

OOC: kill O3, I misread the list, ORC 7 is killed as per description BEHIND Lunn, 11 damage to orog

Raging attack vs Orc3; Raging attack vs Orog: 1D20+6 = [17]+6 = 23
1D12+3+2 = [4]+3+2 = 9
1D20+6 = [20]+6 = 26
1D12+3+2 = [3]+3+2 = 8

Crit damage: 1D12 = [3] = 3
OOC: weakest hitting barbarian ever, what to expect from someone who causes flowers to bloom around him PEACE POWER! :p

The Orog sees Tommi who begins to laugh, as he looks up at the monster. One of the pebbles flies from his sling, past the whirring Oh-Six and smacks the large orc leader in the forehead.

"You dumb fool," Tommi begins as he steps towards the Orog. "You don't have a chance. Run while you can, or never see daylight again."

Tommi walks towards the Orog, leaving the exit open for him if he wants to run.

OOC: Attack: 1d20+7 (w/ adv)=21. Damage = 4d6+4=18 magic bludgeoning.
Move: 15' to W53. Daring him to come closer.
Bonus: Dodge. (disadvantage on attacks) [my bad]

(reaction for uncanny dodge if he hits; or to move 15' if he doesn't))
1 stone left.

OOC: I would really, really like to do thunderwave, but Angis and Dornuk need to move back :(

AC 16; HP 16/45
Spells (DC 14) 4 cantrips, 9 prepared, 4/3/3 slots:
Cantrips: Booming blade, Guidance, Mending, Word of radiance, Thaumaturgy
1st: Bless, Healing word, Shield of Faith, Wrathful smite
2nd: Hold Person, Prayer of Healing, Silence
3rd: Aura of Vitality, Spirit Guardians

Vairar considers for a moment trying to frighten or hold the orog, but in the end, he decides to heal a bit. "Hopefully, I won't use all the higher sphere spells right here."

After uttering the word of healing he stabs into orog, sheathing him into the energy potential threatening to kill it if it moves. While not necessarily the smartest move, it will prevent it from going after the others until Angis and Dornuk clear up the huddle.
"'Ware the caster!" he calls out

Healing word: 1D4+3 = [2]+3 = 5
Booming spear against the orog; damage; thunder damage if it moves: 1D20+6 = [12]+6 = 18
1D10+3+1D8 = [1]+3+[6] = 10
2D8 = [5, 4] = 9
  • very low roll on damage :( lucky orog is now at 12/42
  • if it moves at all, it takes extra 9 damage (and still would survive)
