D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

Legend
Out front, the gnolls proved themselves to be very capable archers. Lionel's quarrel struck one in the leg, and it raised its bow looking to return fire, but the halfling was no longer where the quarrel had come from. Then, Tommi ran out from behind the tree, swinging his sling. By the time he'd let the rock go, the gnoll had fired two arrows at him. His stone struck the gnoll dead, but the gnoll's arrows hit him hard. As he staggered, the other gnoll fired at him too. He was able to duck one arrow, but the second grazed his shoulder.

Lunn ran up beside him, and the gnoll switched targets, firing two arrows that stuck into the half-orc's shield. Oh-six was beside him now as well, and squealed at Tommi, "Suggested tactic: Evasive maneuvers!"

OOC: Gnoll 1 & 2 had readied to fire at the first target they saw, striking Tommi for 7, 4, & 12 (23). Lionel & Tommi killed Gn2, then Gn1 fired at Lunn but missed.

Just as he takes satisfaction for a well-aimed throw, the arrows startted hitting him. He twisted and almost avoided one of them but the others drew blood.

OOC: Uncanny dodge: obviously I'd like to take it on the crit, but if we were at the table, I wouldn't know there were two arrows each, and I would have taken it for the first arrow.

Legend
Escella had thought for a moment that the gnolls behind the ruin had seen her, but no, they were busy sneaking up, and she had chosen her spot well. She gave the spot to Helgrim, pointing out the ambushers, and surrounded herself in darkness.

The old dwarf hunkered down, resting his crossbow on part of the foundation. He fired at the first gnoll he saw moving toward him through the shadows under the trees. The gnoll howled, then rushed toward him, followed by another. They climbed up on the foundation stones, carrying spears, trying to get at him.

Behind them, he spotted the flind as it passed him by, crossing the little stream.

Lionel was happily hidden behind a little tree when he heard splashing in the stream behind him and heavy breathing. He turned to see a gnoll that was much, much larger than the other ones (they were the first gnolls he had ever seen). This one had glowing, blood-shot eyes, drooled, and was beginning to swing a two-headed flail as it marched toward him out of the shadows.

OOC: These gnolls were all forced to dash to move up. Helgrim got one for 9. @MetaVoid Vairar to go for the round (and the hyena-worg)!

Legend
Vairar reluctantly left his cover to stand by Lunn. This was when the giant shaggy hyena-thing charged at them, drooling and snarling. The two locked shields, and it slammed into them, driving them back a step, but they held the line, and it could not get at them. Nor could Vairar risk lowering his shield to effectively use his mace.

OOC: Worg missed. So did Vairar.

One of the arrows that hit is still lodged in Tommi, and he doesn't have time to break it off. His companions have stepped forward to protect him from the approaching Warg, but one of the archers has ducked behind some rocks.

Tommi runs north and repositions himself so he can get a clear shot at the approaching beast, while remaining alert to any incoming arrows. Oh-Six hovers past the warg's head, and an instinctive snap from the creature's jaws almost gets it, its foul neck reaching farther than anyone watching would expect.

This gives Tommi an opening, however, and his sling casts a stone at the exposed throat. It's a good shot.

OOC: Move 30' to AB16
Attack Warg (with advantage as Oh-Six does Flyby help): 1d20+7=17 for 4d6+4=19 magical bludgeoning damage.
Bonus: Dodge (disadvantage on incoming attacks)

1/3 stones left.
HP maybe 2 or 6 more than 19/39, with his reaction last round? EDIT: MY MISTAKE, SORRY

Nah. He's at 18/39. He started at 37 and took 23 (putting him at 14) but he dodged the first 7 damage (so he took 4 less) putting him at 18. Best would be 20/39, if you want to fight for having dodged the 12, but I take you at your word that you'd probably have dodged the 7.

Neurotic

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.
@FitzTheRuke Lunn had readied an action and hit (for low damage, but still), last post on the previous page.

Also, rage effect:
Magic infuses one weapon of your choice that you are holding. Until your rage ends, the weapon's damage type changes to force, and it gains the light and thrown properties, with a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet. If the weapon leaves your hand, the weapon reappears in your hand at the end of the current turn.

Lunn roars into the face of the monster and as his inner fire manifests, his axe start glowing, becoming translucent. First swing goes wide, his attack with the shield not the same as his usual setup. The movement with the axe becomes faster and easier as it loses its solidness and his second swing slices into flesh.

The blade hums slightly.
