D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

OOC: Sure.

Titus snapped awake. He felt as if something had been reaching out to him, lifting him from the ground. Then he was awake, still on the ground, and it was the sound of Enseth's voice (and a wire pin that he had launched which was now holding the worst of Titus' wound closed) that had woken him.

With an angry owlbear standing over him, he soon forgot about all of that.

Titus gripped his hand, thankful to find his sword still in it. He rolled to the side, ignoring the pain and rolling to his feet, stabbing at the Owlbear.

He took a deep breath, awaiting the thing’s rebuttal.

Second Wind. [roll2]

Tommi is making his way through the woods with the sight of the owlbear visible through the trees. He sees Titus dogging it, but then suddenly he sees Titus no more. He casts a stone towards the creature, hoping desperately to stop it. The stone flies, as he holds his breath.

At the same time, he's reaching into his pocket for three more stones, which he charges.

OOC: Attack: vs. Owlbear at Q2. [roll0]. If a hit, damage - [roll1] (includes sneak attack, since there is an adjacent ally.

Move to w/in 30', then move back.
Bonus action: magic stone.

Edit: Ptth. Tommi's not very helpful. Sorry.

Angis & Enseth
Owlbear1

Angis lay into the owlbear, hacking away, but the beast refused to drop. Instead, the pain of its injuries appeared to cause the creature to fly into a rage. It clamped its beak down hard on the dwarf's arm, and flung him aside, then it turned on Enseth with its claws, who only avoided the blow through the power of his energy field.

Titus & Tommi

Unknown Elf

Tommi flung a stone at the owlbear standing over Titus, but it harmlessly bounced off of the creature's thick fur. Then Titus rolled to the side and was up, stabbing at the creature with his sword. The Owlbear reared back and raised its paw and Titus could see the thick sharp claws that were about to descend upon him.

Then an arrow came from out of nowhere and struck the beast in one of its eyes. It took a step forward and Titus jumped to the side to avoid it as it fell in a heavy heap beside him. Tracing the flight of the arrow back to its source, Titus saw an elf calmly sitting in a tree some hundred feet away.

Angis smacked into a tree as the owlbear bit into him again and threw him, and the dwarf slid to the ground and lay still.

Dandin watched helplessly as first Titus and then Angus fell. Fortunately, Enseth managed to revive Tutus, but Dandin was worried about his dwarven friend. The beast seemed resistant to his jibes so he resorted to more traditional forms of battle. Loosing his sling he wound up and shot a stone into the feathery flank of the Owlbear.

OOC: Sling: [roll0] Damage(B):[roll1]

Dandin

Owlbear1

Dandin's stone struck the remaining owlbear in the rump. Having tossed Angis aside and facing the stomping hooves of the elk, the hammering fists of Enseth, and now the stinging stone of the halfling, the beast dropped down on to all fours and lumbered off into the underbrush at high speed.

GM: It disengages and runs off the map.

End of Combat

OOC: Unless anyone wants to chase it for some crazy reason.

Titus limped back to the clearing, falling to his knees once he got there, breathing heavily.

“That’s the second time I almost died,” he said to no one in particular. “I’m finding I’m not a fan of death.”

Tommi saw his stone bounce uselessly off the owlbear's hide. Feathers. Fur. He shivers as he realizes he cannot tell for sure. And it was followed by an arrow, from someone else. It was that archer that felled the beast, not him. But Tituscwas safe for now.

He then watches the remaining Owlbear flee into the forest.

"In the forest!," he cries. "An archer."

He then runs to Angus' side, as he pulls a berry off of the sprig of mistletoe pinned to his lapel. It's an old wive's trick his mom taught him when he was a boy; he can pluck them all day, and if they need to, they'll keep your belly full. They do other things, too. He pops it between the dying dwarf's clenched teeth, as another berry spouts on the stalk.

OOC: Move to Angus (if more than 30', Dash as bonus action).
Action: cast goodberry
Free action (?). Give one to Angus, +1 hp. (he has 9 berries left; it's not really "all day, but I figure he's never needed more than a couple at a time until now. He'll happily give them all to Angus if he wants them.)
