D&D 5E (IC) Scourge of Daggerford

"We risk much remaining here. Fort might send replacements. But I think not. If they see fires, we be fine." Lunn offers, huffing after the exertion of his rage. "If we're gonna go, we need to go now, one the night falls, the orcs will come after us. Maintaining the illusion be better."

"There is a hunting cabin we can reach before nightfall," Escella says. "It should be safer than staying here or walking in darkness to the Manor. We should kill any orcs still living. Patrols from this camp will be returning soon as well I suppose."

Angis stroked his beard and grunted, "I dinnae think we ought ta leave these bodies in the open. Perhaps we can spare a tick ta dump'em in the pond. Otherwise, I dinnae ken why we hit'em at all, if naugh' ta stop our presence from being known at the castle."

"I was never sure why we came out here in the first place either," Escella says. "Are we going to clean up the blood too? I don't know how much time we have before a patrol returns, if a patrol returns at all."

"We should simply remain here and play orcs. How would any new arrivals know. Lunn can let them in and we kill them before they realize what happened."
Vairar looks over the people. All wounded.
"I can heal you somewhat. And some mundane salves and bandages should help too"
OOC: we have all HD for now :)
"I believe the idea was to destroy the staging area or at least scout it out. We hit this because killing orcs helps with that. We have the option to scout the fort now. And we should. Again, Lunn can move fairly unobtrusively. And Tommi, Lionel and Escella could maybe skulk around him. Angis and I can hold the camp...such as it is."

Lionel had picked up the crossbow, where he dropped it, on the way back to camp. Fight was over, for now, and Tommi had stabbed the last remaining orc. It was cool to see how Tommi was guiding the boar back with a firm, albeit a gentle hand. It wouldn't be long until he was riding the boar.
Lionel agreed with Vairar. A short break is all they need to regain some strength. then they could go and scout out the fort on the hill.

After Tommi dispatched the last surviving Orc, Angis began piling the bodies into one of the tents. They made a thorough search of the camp, and Escella discovered a hidden silk sack of 400 gold (including five harbour moons - money used primarily for high trading in Waterdeep, which should be nearly worthless to a tribal orc). This money was stashed in what was likely a tent shared by the two shamans, based on the various idols to their conquering god Gruumsh.

No battle plans existed, but this was only natural. This was most likely an extra group of orcs, flying their own banner and joining in the fight for pay or favour. The leadership would be at the castle.

After pocketing the loot, Ana says, "Found some money. I'll hold on to it for now. Okay, let's head north to the keep and take a short rest once we find a good vantage point. I don't think we want to go into the keep. Just observe it. Depending on what we see, we can plan from there to either head to the gnoll camp or some other course of action. Sound good?"

"Do we take the War pig with us?" asks Tommi, uncertain he will have the luck he had handling it if he tries again. "Or maybe just set it free?"
