[IC] SWS/DnD5, Star Wars the Old Republic – A Gathering Darkness

Jihahna pauses a moment, then reaches and skakes this Gands hand. "Well, I should not be alive after that blast a while back anyway. I guess if you're expendable, then you've got nothing to lose? Yeah... I'll give it a try."

 

[Binder Fred]

The gand presses back before buzzing again: jumble drone slurr click "Jihahna Darut is too serious." jumble clacketty drone mumble slurr "Jihahna Darut will worry her friends."

 

[GreenKarl]

Cass Everburn and a few of the mercs in listening distance seem amused by Jihahna's and this Gand's conversion but otherwise nervously watch the jungle forest for hostile fauna (or flora for that matter). After about an hour of following the path the mercs are earlier made though the woods the trees around them seem to shake and the ground buckles in path. The repluserlifts mean that the passengers don't feel much effects of the ground shaking but they shaken a bit and a couple of mercs fall off the landspeeder.

Suddenly there is loud burst of chatter over the comlinks as people from the mining camp start calling out in alarm about an earthquake. The shaking stops almost as fast as it appears but leaves and moss parasitical rain down onto the speeders...

 

[Sezarious]

Jihahna's eyes boggle slightly in size at the sudden quake. She runs her fingers through her hair before turning back to this Gand. "Good thing we're expendable or this quaking would start to freak me out in fear for my life!" Whad'ya think? Guardians or Demons?"

 

[GreenKarl]

Cass Everburn gets off the landspeeder saying "We are almost at the edge of the forest anyway... might be safer for some of us to walk..."

This Gand and Cal then notice movement in the forest. This Gand is fairly sure that there are at least two (maybe more) Kwi moving towards the team and the speeders...

"It could simply be an earthquake," says Kacela. "Not every tremble of the ground is a herald of the End Times."

That said, it couldn't hurt to check...

She closed her eyes and lifted her chin, as if sniffing the wind. Not far from the truth, though she was using subtler senses than smell...

Opening herself again to the Force, Kacela is again almost knocked prone by the overwhelming sense of darkness and evil... something has awakened. She is not sure what... but something old, ancient and terribly powerful with the Dark Side of the Force... The young Padawan feels that it is coming from where the miners are digging but it seems to be moving... towards the mining camp.

Again there are a few short tremors hit the forest as if aftershocks...

 

[Shayuri]

The Jedi opens her eyes and remarks, "And then again, sometimes it is."

She looks around at Cass and speaks sharply, "Raise the mining camp on your comm! Tell them to get out! NOW!"

 

[Sezarious]

Jihahnas eyes show a little fear for a moment at Kacelas panic, then she remembers what this Gand said to her, so she looks to the Gand momentarily and gives it a try. Taking a slow deep breath through her nose, she tries to reason with her fears as one who is expendable. The worst that could happen to her is irrelevant because she is expendable. An interesting thought, until another tremor hits and she is shaken away from it.

Her memory of the darkness waking up stirs in her mind. Her chest tightens a little in panic, but she slows it down a little with her breathing.

"Somehow I don't think the miners will listen to the mercs authority. We'll just need to get there soon."

 

[Binder Fred]

cruck mumble drone low-hum "Borrow Cass Everburn's speederbike?" inquires the gand of the merc leader before pointing to their left: click "Kwi."


OOC: He/she figures the four PCs can pile in and leave the landspeeder to the mercs to get there when they can?
