[IC] SWS/DnD5, Star Wars the Old Republic – A Gathering Darkness

Jihahna's eyes narrow at Garnell. She looks to the others before taking a step back a moment.

"Kacela, no. I'm not ok with this. Axxila has enough problems as it is without more drugs being shipped to it..."

She releases the safeties on her rifle. No anger this time. No fear."I dunno about everybody else, but I refuse. This guy is lying about something too... Of that I'm certain."

OOC:

Jihahna readies her action to fire. She was also inadvertently speaking to Cal with the last few sentences, trying to infer to him her patience has run out.

Garnell glares over at Jihahna but his smile never leaves his face, adding "Now, now Miss, why so hostile? You do not wish me harm do you? We are conducting a simple business arrangement after all. No reason to see harm where none is intended. But if I cannot acquire the cargo from you willing I will take my leave of you and... regrettably I will have to report this to my employer. He is not as... a peaceful man as I am..."

"Jihahna, stand down please," Kacela says calmly, trying to defuse the tension. "We invited him here. Lets not be discourteous."

She looks at Garnell.

"Lets get this done as quickly as possible, before minds are changed. Where do you wish the cargo sent?"

As the twi'lek speaks, she sends ripples in the Force towards Jihahna, trying to touch her mind.

Trust me. I hope to deny them their prize in a way that places the blame upon them rather than us. That is all.

Garnell smiles back to Kacela, almost oozing slickly charm. Both Jedi recognize that this man is use to getting his way and normally simply of who he is or who he is works for. "Most excellent Mistress Jedi, I knew the Jedi would be reasonable about our predicament."

Jihahna grits her teeth and lowers her blaster rifle. She needed to trust in Kacela more. She was being foolish again. A little irritated at herself, she left the room to immediately go and grab the cargo.

"Whatever! Well, right now is as convenient to me as anything! Allow me!"

When she grabs the various crates, she's going to dump the first outside, but then throw the second one out of the cargo bay, carelessly in the hope of forcing the pirates to have to crouch down and pick up everything.

Others, she'll place down outside, but on occasion, she'll hurl one down with a sarcastic apology.

"Please excuse me," Kacela says apologetically. "My intent is simply to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. Just inform my associates here when and where you'll be ready for the transfer and we'll see to the rest."

She goes after Jihahna, and puts a hand on her shoulder.

"Please stop. We need calm now. Calm, and careful consideration. Breathe in, hold...and let out slowly."

Jihahna stops and turns to Kacela, her eyes bulge slightly from being flustered. She whispers to Kacela apologetically.

"Yes, yes, I'm sorry, I got your message, but I'm no good at deception. When I heard you, I knew I had to get out of there and continue to walk about like a grump or I would have blown everything... Let's assume you ordered me to my quarters and I might sit there for awhile on comms..."

She takes a deep breath, before moving away to her room with a smile.

Still smiling, even with the past threats, Garnell says "If you can have the cargo placed outside your ship I can have my associates pick it up in the next five minutes. Would that work for you Mistress Jedi? I do look forward to concluding our business so that we can each move forward..."

GM: The spice is packed into a hard plastic crate like box about a meter across. It probably weighs a total of 15kg

(Inside the datapad knowledge twitches like flashes of flickering holofilms across the darkness.

The gand tilts her bulbous head, her body, unbeknownst to her, doing the same thing in the real world. She catches sight of pictures, streaming lines of text, things less easy to define...

What is important here? she thinks, and to her surprise the thoughts translate into sound here in the darkness, her voice speaking her thoughts without her mouth-palps moving in the slightest. This could be dangerous, comes the second thought... But what is important here, for the janwuine?

Procuror of Rare Objects flashes past and the gand's consciousness is instantly in pursuit on legs of mitochondrites, a dive that smears all the other data into elongated streaks of babbling light as they shoot past...)

[Sblock=Actions]What objects has Garnell procured? Any of them of interest to the Gand and his/her quest for ancient tech? Any chance of finding out where these might be located (in those secret storage lockers?)?

Catch the snitch: 1D20+5 = [2]+5 = 7

OOC: Sorry for the delay, had to train my cross-shift during my usual time off: we're ramping up this project big time, folks![/sblock]

Kacela considers, but not for very long. Five minutes probably wasn't enough time for what she had in mind, but the others on the ship might surprise her. And if not, then it would come down to a fight regardless. Not ideal, but at least this way there was a chance to avoid it.

"So be it."

She watched the man leave, waiting until the hatch was closed behind him before saying, "What I'd like to do is hide a transmitter in the crate we can use to mark the ship for a seizure. Or, if that's not plausible..." Kacela frowns a little. "I suppose there's no time to substitute something harmless for the spice. What of an explosive device?"
