[IC] The Odd Job

It took him a moment to recall what exactly Glowi was good for, a luminescent weed that was mostly used for illumination. However when he had worked with it in the past, his master had told him glowi could also be deadly if processed incorrectly. People seemed to like deadly things more than they liked useful things.

"Glowi? He might buy a few to make some sunrods and such, but not a whole bunch. I on the other hand might be able to make use of a bunch of glowi, as long as you would help me sell the final product." He looked at the crates, those must be difficult to lug around. "My master's shop might be a good place to store them for the time being, he has a root cellar that would keep them from spoiling."

“I’ve got a better idea for staying alive and not becoming a skinchanger,” Hrgach pointed out to Ana. He eyed the quicksilver Balin produced skeptically. “Quicksilver? Never heard of it.”

He let Ana haggle over the damn root. This job just got worse and worse.

"Quicksilver is a form of silver melted down and contained in specially treated glass so it stays liquid. As soon as it leaves the container it solidifies back into its natural state. Only issue is once it solidifies however it corrodes quickly within minutes". Balin beams."Could throw it at the beast or coat a weapon in it. Alas I only have the two vials on hand"

Hrgach sighed. “Well, two is better than nothing,” he said. He looked at Ana and Galdor. Two vials, but three who needed it. “So what do we do? Boulder, parchment, shears, dragon, elf for it?”

Balin chuckled at this comment "As I said the lord William would have some silver to make more, there is no need to fight. It is your call. The lord has been distant recently but I can make him see us."

Asha inspects the bag and smiles at the boy. The bag seemed to have magical properties. If the boy made this then he might be more skilled than she had first thought. She turns her attention to the others. Ana and Hrgach continued to be at each others throats, but ignored it unless it came to blows. She listened distractedly as they talked until Balin mentioned getting more silver from the lord.

"Then perhaps we should speak with this lord and see if we can make some more of this Quicksilver. We would need at least one more vial if all three of my companions are to be effective against the creature."

Balin vanishes behind the bar the sound of scraping wood can be heard as he returns moments later clutching a yellow and frayed scroll in his left hand."Just a little insurance to ensure our lord will hear us.".

The walk up the hill to Lord William's mannor is uneventful as the party approaches the large iron fence that rings the property can be seen clearly now the tops of the fence have been sharpened to points, and shine in the morning sun. The odd thing is they look like they are made from silver not steel a strange choice for a fortification. The gate house is a small building housing a table with some cards arranged on it sat on a stool is a elderly human in a fine suite of plate, his halberd rests against one of the walls he is clearly not expecting trouble. At his feet a curled up asleep is a rather large dog its head hidden under a paw.

Almost sensing your arrival the dog bounds up from its slumber startling the old man who fumbles for his weapon. Now up to its full height the dog is infact a wolf and given its size must be a dire wolf."Balin its you" the old mans voice is like dry paper rubbing together.
"Hello Fred' Balin replies
"Sorry friend m'lord is out on business" Balin steps forward and hands Fred the scroll, reading its contents Fred gasps his jaw agape."Mmm'lord said to prepare elevensises so he should be back soon"Fred blurts outWould you like to wait inside?" the elderly man offers. Balin's face becomes a scowl at the prospect of wasting time waiting around as he looks at you for an answer.

OOC: Tis currently 9:30am so William should be back by 11:00

Asha smiles sweetly at the old man. She hoped that she could convince the man to give them the silver without speaking to the lord.

"Fred was it? My companions and I have agreed to assist Balin here with the beast that prays on your lords domain. We have a trail but require some pure silver so Balin can make more Quicksilver to deal with the beast once we have found it's lair."

Asha smiles again at the man.

"Unfortunately we do not have time to wait on the return of your lord. The trail could go cold while we wait and every minute matters. Finding the beast after night fall is not advised. Could you please let us take the silver we need and be on our way. Lives are in danger the longer we delay."

Asha looks at the man with pleading eyes.

"I am sure your lord would provide us with what we need were he here. It is for the defense of his people after all."

OOC: Let me know if you want me to roll anything for this.

Fred's face turns whit and grows ever paler as the women carries on. When she mentions hunting the beast he begins to visibly sweat as his eyes dart around trying not to focus on Asha.
OOC: Make me a persuasion roll as I'm a strong believer in nothing is impossible
