[IC] The Odd Job

No one else seemed to panic at the arrival of the bull-man and the woman who had introduced herself as Ana seemed to know him. So far they were the only others to step forward, so went under the assumption that they were going to be the people he would be acting as medic for. "Hello Ana, my name is Benjamin Terren, but you can call me Ben. I am the Apothecary's apprentice. I may not look like much, but I can treat your wounds and I have a few tricks up my sleeve."

He is clearly trying too hard to be "smooth" as he introduces himself and with his last words he tosses one of his vials at the stack of crates the halfling had been standing on. The boxes sizzle and melt away where the acid made contact.
OOC: I deal 6 acid damage to the pile of crates
He then points to the bull-man, and says somewhat hushed, "Is he a friend of yours?"

"He's okay. Bit beat up at the moment, but generally good in a scrap." Ana says. "And the hobgoblin is a total ass but also good in a fight. We also have a bit of magic support from the woman over there." She points vaguely where the hut was.

Asha walks up to stands next to Ana. She smiles at Benjamin. The smile lights up her face making her more radiant than normal. The two had mentioned her name and it had piqued her curiosity.

"My name is Asha. It is a pleasure to met you Benjamin. I am the mage Ana spoke of."

Asha extends her hand to the man. When Benjamin takes Asha's hand it is almost cold. She quickly pulls her hand back and looks over at Balin.

"You are local yes? Do you really think it is a werewolf that is terrorizing the village?"

“Not afraid, just smart, female,” Hrgach snapped back at Ana. “It’s one thing to face death, but a lycanthropy curse is another thing altogether.”

The hobgoblin sighed and followed the others as they introduced themselves. “Hrgach,” he said. “You ever done anything like this, kid?”

Balin looks up from his alchemy kit at Asha's question."Some form of lycanthrope, yes, could be bear or wolf, tiger seems to far out of its element and a rat wouldn't be eating as much meat, perhaps a boar?. They seem to have some control over there curse as they have attacked on cloudy nights, without a full moon. Happy that his alchemy kit is bubbling away he goes to reading his tome."Done this before? No, not personally, but father left detailed notes on how to deal with the creatures.

Ana has nothing to add on the subject. However Hrgach once heard his mystic speaking of Belladonna being able to cure the affliction and that fire will work just as well as silver. Watching wolves growing up Hrgach is familiar with how they will act, he knows it must be close by within 12miles of the village given the layout of the terrain this can be narrowed down to the small forest at the base of a nearby mountain.

"Yeah, I'm from this town, my parents work one of the farms outside the village. I don't know enough about the werewolf's to really know if it could of been done by one, but I do know people are already capable of some pretty horrible things and a person with the feral instincts of a wolf could be truly monstrous." Anything like this before? he had killed various animals so he could dissect them... he had a decent working knowledge of their anatomy. He had the ability to create explosives and acids that could harm pretty much anything he had encountered... not that he had encountered that much. "No, I've never really done anything like this, but my master thinks I'm ready and I'm ready to prove myself. I know most of the area around here and I can take you where you need to go."

He thought for a moment before getting excited, always happy to show off his achievements, "Also, if you have supplies that need carried, I'm pretty sure they will all fit in the bag I made." He produces a small bag that couldn't possibly hold more than a few pounds of anything and hands it to Asha, hoping to impress the beautiful newcomer.

Hrgach sighed. “You’re all so itching to get yourselves bit,” he said. “Listen, kid, you got any belladonna?” he asked. “To treat a lycan bite? Any of you have silver weapons? No? Fire might work. But only magic is really going to harm this creature,” he pointed out. “If it’s a werewolf, we might be outnumbered. Wolves hunt in packs. Probably lairs close by. Likely in the forest at the foot of that mountain,” he said, indicating the peak that loomed over the town.

Balin looks to the hobgoblin and pulls out two round glass baubles and gives them a swirl inside is a thick, almost solid silver liquid."Quicksilver, I can make more but I will require some pure silver and a few hours The only person likely to have such pure silver would be our lord."

"Do you have a better prospect for getting paid, hobgoblin? We aren't going to find a buyer for our ..." Ana starts and pauses. "Hey, Ben, do you think your master would be interested in buying a bunch of glowi?"
