D&D 5E (IC) Vault of the Dracolich (Dispensables)

A tense ten (or so) minutes pass, with Sesto, Pyrus, and particularly Bob, barricading all three sets of doors. The centre of the room is clear of pews. Piles of them are wedged against each door. The enemy outside has attempted each door, to no avail. The doors are heavy to begin with, and the pews make the perfect device to hold them. But they can't last forever, and Pyrus often nervously considers the obelisk. Why have they not used it to enter the room in much the same way we did?

Finally, the sending stone sparks to life, creating a low hum, and Drako, Terrus, Lorenn, and Torbin appear, one-by-one.

Help has arrived.

OOC: There is no way this group is going to get a short rest, I'm afraid. If Sesto didn't use Bob's potion, perhaps he could give it to Pyrus? Does Sesto have any good healing spells? Terrus is a little beat-up too. I think the others are all fine.

Chapter Two: The Inner Temple, Early Morning

Group: The New Dispenables

GM: Just so everyone knows, this new group consists of:
@tglassy playing Genasi Mystic brothers, Pyrus and Terrus
@Prickly Pear playing the Cleric, Sesto
@gargoyleking playing the Barbarian, Bobranthus
@eayres33 playing the Warlock, Drako
@Fradak playing the Bladedancer, Lorenn
and the NPC scout, Torbin

The newcomers arrive by teleport to find a large stone church-like room. The pews have been piled at doors on the east, west, and south walls to keep out enemies, who occasionally pound at them. The north wall has an altar, covered by a fallen banner. The floor is marked with a huge skull-symbol of Bhaal. There is a pile of bodies in a corner, and the three heroes are all tired and a little injured, although Bob seems to be in high spirits.

"Brother," Terrus says to Pyrus. "Gotten yourself into trouble again?"

He steels himself for another long battle.

"Figured I'd give you a chance to do something useful'" Pyrus said, dryly, moving to the back of the group. "Perhaps these teleportation devices could help us somehow? "

OOC: I have a few spell slots available for healing.
Spells used: 0/4 1st, 2/3 2nd, 0/2 3rd
So, I can cast Prayer of Healing (2nd level): Up to six creatures of your choice that you can see within range each regain hit points equal to 2d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier.
Prayer of Healing: 2D8+4+4 = [6, 3]+4+4 = 17 (+4 for spellcasting ability and +4 for Disciple of Life) FitzTheRuke, is it one roll for all or is it one roll per character???
Sesto's HP: 38/38

At last help arrives. It's been a nerve-wrecking time with the enemy trying to break down the doors. Everyone seems to have some bruises and cuts.
Sesto kneels down in the middle of the room and starts praying for more of Lathander's healing power. Not long after, everyone in the room starts to feel better and the aches and pains seems to lessen. Praise the Mighty Lathander!

Shaking off the odd sensation of the transportation Drako looked around the room. They were barricaded inside a room, well you sure got the short end of this deal, the voice inside his head mocked.

“So, I’m coming in a little cold here, what are we trying to keep out?” Drako asked as he pointed towards the doors.

Bob looks over to the newcomers and laughs at Drako's question. "It seems we disturbed the hornets nest my friend. We were just waiting for you before we commenced the head bashing."

OOC: With Sesto's healing Bob is at 54/55, assuming of course that he doesn't need to roll separately for everyone.

OOC: One roll is fine.

Torbin looked around the room. What terrible people built this place, he thought, then he asked, "Are we gonna try to hold this room, break out, or try to use this teleporter of yours?"

Torbin didn't like teleporting, but then, he didn't like the idea of dying fighting cultists while standing over a symbol of Bhaal, like his friend Kelley had done.

Drako looked over at Torbin, “While I’m not one hundred percent sure of the situation, I don’t think they teleported us in just to teleport us back out.”

The old fool brought you here to die, you walked right into a trap, the voice in Drako’s head grew louder. You are an unworthy vessel.

“Some of you have seen these cultists,” Drako began addressing the group, “what chance do we stand, and are we looking to fight our way out or defend this room?”

Bob shakes his head at Drako. "We could use that." Bob points at the teleportation statue. Then he grins once again.

"But no knowing where we will land. And one of us did not come through the last time. Instead, we should pick a door and begin the head bashing. Maybe we find another statue thingy."
