In need of two custom magic items.

Would anyone care to stat up these magic items for me please? I'm terrible at using the item creation rules to do this.

Things like hardness, attack bonus, & other stats not mentioned in my descriptions are open-ended. Feel free to even change the stats that I did mention. Do whatever makes sense. Thanks in advance for any help.

1. Stone Cube
When this small gray cube is thrown, the cube spends 1 full round growing into a 10x10x10-ft granite block that lasts for 20 rounds, plus 1d20 additional rounds.

2. Serpent Sphere
When this golden globe is thrown into the air, it floats for 1 full round. After which, 1d6 Giant Serpentine Heads with 7HD each emerge from the globe on 10-ft long scaly necks. Each head attacks the nearest creature for 1d10 damage.

Serpent Sphere

How well do they hit, what is their reach, and do several heads attack a single opponent?

What happens once they attack, do they remain to continue fighting or do they disappear?

Sorry, I see that I actually did forget to mention that each head only makes 1 attack. The fluff is up in the air. So feel free to come up with any sort of descriptions. We can say that after a head makes an attack (whether it hits or misses), it crumbles into a golden powder and disperses as if a gust of wind blew it in every direction. That's my first thought. Feel free to elaborate or change that completely.

This item will be used by a 7th level NPC vs a 5-6 lvl party. So the attack could be based on that?

Their reach is 10-ft.

Each head will attack whatever opponent is near, including the person that threw the sphere if he is close enough.

Stone Cube:
This small gray cube fits easily in the palm of your hand until the cube is activated as a full-round action. Once per day the cube may be tossed within 60'. When it lands the cube begins to expand and fills a 10x10x10 volume with granite. Any creature within the area that is being filled is pushed back and may attempt a DC20 reflex to avoid being crushed against a wall, ceiling or other firm surface. The cube remains in its expanded state for 20 rounds + 1d20 rounds; has hardness 8 and 1,800 hp.

Moderate Conjuration; CL 9; Craft Wonderous Item, Wall of Stone; Prince 18,000 GP

I kept the area and duration the same as the OP. The range was plucked from thin air. I added the part about being crushed because I'm sure it would come up. I know I would try to use it to smash my enemies. ;) Hardness and HP added for convenience.

Serpent Sphere:
This golden sphere is etched with carvings of serpent like heads. Once per day, as a full-round action, the sphere can be tossed into the air within 60' and floats perfectly in the air. The sphere sprouts 1d6 enormous snake heads which writhe about in the air. Each head may attack a foe within 10' with a +10 bonus and deals 1d10+4 damage. The heads last for one minute.

A head may be attacked and destroyed (AC 17, HP 77). If a head is destroyed, it falls to the ground and disappears into mist. Each destroyed head "renews" in one week since it was destroyed. During this time each destroyed head provides a -1 penalty on the number of heads created.

Moderate Conjuration; CL 11; Craft Wonderous Item, Summon Monster 6; Price 26,400

I based the damage on Hydras since they were close to the OP (7HD; 1d10 damage) and I'm also very lazy. Not sure if the pre-req spell is accurate enough to recreate such an item.

Couldn't Stone Cube be replicated with the Shrink Item spell? Take a stone chunk, cast the level 3 arcane spell, carry the cube in your pocket to toss down when needed? You can either carry a wand of Shrink Item, which would cost you 22,500gp to have a wand that does this 50 times, or cast Permanency for the cost of 1500xp and be able to do this to the cube infinitely.

Edit: Oops, at 2cubic feet per level, you'd need to be a level 500 caster to use Shrink Item on a block that size. Nevermind.

Edit: Daern's Instant Fortress creates a metal cube 20' x 20' x 30' complete with a door, supports and a crenelated top for 55,000gp which is able to be activated and deactivated as many times a day as you want. Your cube should be cheaper then that since it's less sophisticated and smaller.

Stone Cube: & Serpent Sphere:
Thanks so much for doing these for me. I realize now that although it was clear to me, it was not so clear when I typed out these descriptions. Both of these items are meant to be 1-use items, like a tanglefoot bag or alchemist's fire. Can you price the cube & sphere out using all of your statistics and make them 1-use items rather than reusable per day? That should drastically cut down on the price of the items too right?

Also, each head on the Serpent Sphere only attacks 1 time. Then the head crumbles to dust or whatever (regardless of if it hits or misses). I didn't mention that until my 2nd post in this thread (when Starfox questioned me about it). Sorry about that. I think I'll make them last 1d4+1 minutes rather than the 20+ 1d20 rounds. I think that is how 3.5 would normally do it and it also gives the chance for a full 5 minutes rather than a possible 4 minute max.

Just a side note about the Stone Cube, it takes a full round to grow. I would assume that anyone that close to the cube (or under it) would move out of the way before it finished growing. Of course, if they don't, then they get crushed. :p

Ah, I read "full round" and thought in my head that it was the equivalent of something like a full round attack, not a 1 round growth. And besides, players do the silly things sometimes. :P

Help me understand what it is the Stone Cube is supposed to accomplish, and I might be able to point out some existing sources that can do something similar.

For example, if you're looking for an Obstruction-in-a-can, I'd imagine a Wall Of Stone spell could accomplish this. Since the Trapsmith can cast this as a level 3 spell, you can theoretically get it into a wand of some sort, but that's a stretch.

I figured the Stone Cube would be something like a Wall of Stone spell.

These 2 objects are going to be used by an NPC and whatever he doesn't use will be available as loot. They are 2nd edition items from a module that I'm converting into 3.5. I'd like to convert them rather than just have him use a scroll or a wand of Wall of stone because it will be more interesting to find as loot than another wand or scroll. It would also allow any non casters to use them if they wanted to keep one.
