Incantatrix help/opinions

As for the prohibited school thing, I'd personally say that once you pick up a barred school, then I'd agree with some of the earlier responses in that you'd completely lose all access to it, including any spells you already knew just as a when a specialist wizard chooses his barred schools. The text in the Red Wizard entry I'd take to be a special ability of that class.
Except that after 3rd level spells, most of the stuff from necromancy unless you're specifically going the zombie master route can be through similar effect duplicated by the other schools. You lose out on a few nifty things, but you lose out on more nifty stuff from enchant and illusion.

Thanee said I would keep the earlier spells I had before taking the PrC, but prohibited school seems kind of a strong statement, which tells me that I lose everything from the school I drop. I know the specialization in Dragonlance you keep the earlier spells, but Im not quite sure here. Anyone else opinion on this ?

I believe there have been debates over this in the past. It used to specify in 3.0 that you kept the spells you already knew. However, in 3.5, the class underwent a major overhaul, and no such allowance is given. By a strict reading, it seems clear to me that it is meant to work exactly like a forbidden school from specialization, meaning you lose any and all access to that school, even from spell trigger and spell completion items.

It does seem a bit nonsensical that you forget what you have already learned, that is if you look at it merely as focusing more on one thing than another. However, there could be a more supernatural explanation (this is magic, after all). Perhaps the act of initiating into the class changes the very way that you use magic?
