Invasion of Mori - IC [3.5][CE/NE][planar]

"I can try a Greater Dispelling on it," Silhouette concedes. "If it works, we'll have only seconds to pass it before the glyph recovers, so be ready. Kelteror, point it out to me so I can target it directly."

Kelteror points out the rune.

Silhouette flickers into visibility as she incants, flinging a barely visible pulse of antimagic at the rune that looked like a momentary heat distortion...a transparent ripple in the air.

(Greater dispel, 1d20+13 vs DC 11+rune's caster level)

The glyph glows briefly, becoming fully visible before fading away into nothingness.

OOC: I believe that dispelling it gets rid of it for good, actually.

"Glyphs cannot be affected or bypassed by such means as physical or magical probing, though they can be dispelled."

(OOC Yer right! A glyph is permanant, but isn't a "magic item" per se, and so can be dispelled normally, not just suppressed. My brain sometimes does strange things when I'm not looking.)

"I will scout further for enemies. Kelteror, you will still need to keep your eyes sharp for traps" Kaelvorr glides forward and into the cave floor.

And for daggers in my back, Kelteror says jokingly, telepathically.

occ:
that's an "evil" joke for y'all!

The hole leads to a natural cave which has been enlarged. Several additional tunnels have been added to it, leading further down into the earth.

As you descend, it becomes immediately clear that the kobolds are not particularly good at tunneling. Though their passages do not seem likely to collapse anytime soon, they lack the smoothness and elegance of tunnels made by dwarves or other true subsurface races.

The cave itself is quite sufficient to hold even a dragon, but the tunnels are narrow. They were likely never made for anything much bigger than a kobold; human-sized creatures can squeeze by, but larger creatures encounter more significant difficulties.

Piles of bones interspersed with items indicate that some sort of creature lairs here.

OOC: This is aimed at Kaelvorr, but I don't really think it needs sblocking. I'm leaving it public so you can start thinking about how to proceed ASAP. ;)

While Kaelvorr ghosts ahead, Silhouette casts Detect Magic to survey the bodies of the sentries. If anything glows, she picks it off the body for further examination. Once Kaelvorr says there's nothing dangerous immediately ahead, she'll use the Detect Magic on the item stashes within the large room.

(note - she's still invisible, since she never took aggressive action)
