D&D 5E (2014) Ironfang Invasion (IC)

"Why, thank you, lass," Flint replies with mirth in his voice, purposefully misunderstanding who Corsa called 'best-looking', "If it wasn't for the lack of a beard you'd be rather pretty yourself, too!"

The dwarf gives her an exaggerated wink before starting a series of movements to practice with his greataxe, doing a mock-battle with an empty section of the cave, hoping to get a sense of how to handle the weapon properly. Eventually he stops, placing the end of the handle on the floor and uses it as a staff to lean on.

"I'm hoping that's been the last true threat. We're all needin' some rest and some are needin' a bit of healing."

OOC: Flint is grateful for the healing! :)

As Loosh comes forward, Flint accepts the healing touch as his singed beard seems more lush, his eyes more focused, and his skin healthier.

"Thanks," the dwarf mutters, looking Loosh in the eyes shyly, as if somewhat embarrassed for getting himself injured.

The room is silent, no noise other than the sounds of your voices is heard. From where you are standing the path continues into the darkness but the ground begins to slant downwards and a slight cold breeze comes up from below.

GM:
Let me know if you want to push on, retreat back and try for a long rest, try for a short or long rest here, or something else.

OOC: Lal has 2 rages left and no injuries, but he's ok with the others stopping.

Lal stroked his beard, looking thoughtful. The experience with the Bull of Battle was... something. Not to over-do. But it was better than risking his friends falling.

He looked up and said "No worries Vin, as long as we don't all have a bad moment at the same time... I'm sure you'll be saving my bacon soon enough. And flint, if you want some advice on how to handle these axes, I can show you a few tips!"

"As far as resting... sure, this was a hard fight, although the gods were kind to me personally. Is this the best spot though? Surely there is a more defensible corridor..."

Flint nods.

"Between the last cavern and the one before, there's a narrow stretch that's easily defended," the former dwarven captain says. "I'm sayin' we should be resting there, with sentries on both sides."

OOC: I'd prefer a long rest so I can recover my sorcery points and spell slots, although a short rest would be agreeable, too.

Harb Half-Elf Paladin

Harb looks at his allies.

"My body has channeled about as much of Sarenrae's blessing as I can manage. It takes a lot out of me. That said we can rest but, the longer we wait the longer they have to figure out that something isn't right. It's possible no one would notice a few of those inside missing but I imagine even these things understand shifts for guards. Someone will come this way so those guarding our rest should be ready to ambush whoever comes and we would be wise to sleep in our armor, as uncomfortable as I know that is."

OOC: That is about as close to admitting that he could use a long rest as Harb is going to admit. He can continue on on a short or no rest for now, but won't argue against what ever the group decides. I've used all his lay on hands and he has 1 spell remaining.
