D&D 5E (2014) Ironfang Invasion (IC)

Corsa searches the bodies there is 3 gold pieces in each of their belts and there armor bares the emblem of the Chernasardo Rangers.

GM:
The armor smells like decaying flesh but other than a few holes that can be easily mended the leather armor is in good condition.

"No one inside. There was a fight in here. My guess is the townspeople back at the camp can use what ever is in these cupboards more than the two dead men can. I must say the presence of this undead beast is worrysome."

OOC: Does this cabin look like a place we could hold up for the night? Do we think we have enough daylight left to get some place better?

Corsa snorts derisively when she notices the insignia of the Chernasardo Rangers. She still couldn't believe Aubrin represented the finest forces in Nirmathas. Corsa had sympathised with the freedom-fighting Nirmathans for years, but now...now she knew they deserved to lose this war.

"They probably invited the wight in for tea. Who knows, it might've been a ~nice~ wight." She takes the coins gruffly and stands up.

"So much for help finding those caves, then. I don't suppose you have any idea where they are, Giana?"

OOC: I'm assuming we've filled Giana in on what we're looking for out here.

"We'll just have to find those caves ourselves. Then again, were we expecting to find only two rangers? Perhaps the rest were out when the... the wight, arrived." Loosh seemed dubious.

Lal looks around with some concern

"I find it hard to believe that there were only *two* rangers. That's not much of a force! We have to be very careful here, we don't want the rest of then to intercept us and think *WE* are the ones who killed these two! Looting may be... ill advised".

Looking around surveying the area.
"Hopefully this is an outpost not the main encampment. I agree though. On second thought not touching anything is best. We are going to have to find a place to hold up for the night, and soon."

"Best we give those boys a proper funeral," Flint responds. "Then we can spend the night here in the shack and move on in the morning."

The dwarf looks around, trying to find a good place to dig at least two shallow graves, but he does not find anything that can hold up to his standards. "Too moist," he mutters as tiny magical waterdrops dance around his head.

OOC: Perception: [roll0]

GM:
The Cabin is sturdy and the door is in poor condition but with very little effort it can be strengthened. There is perhaps an hour of daylight left. The land on the “island the cabin is on is fairly dry and a little elevated, it would be the best burial spot in the area.
I also assume Giana has been filled in on the situation.

Lal, as he looks around for materials to make the cabin more defensible, muses

"See, what troubles me here is not so much what killed these poor rangers but rather what turned them into Zombies. And why? What is going on here? Is this random tragedy? Because the timing..."
