Is this series supposed to be like the New Adventures of Herculues? I used to love that show, but it slathered the cheese on with a trowel.

I think you meant Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. And yes, while that show did pour on the cheese, it was exciting, occasionally well written, and above all, FUN!

The new Flash Gordon has the same amount of cheese, but none of the other elements I've mentioned. :\
