Is SVGames an honest business? Was I the only one stolen?

I do not like doing this, but I'm extremely disappointed to see how some people in the gaming industry treat their customers and fellow gamers. I would like to know if any of you has had similar problems with SVGames.

I have ordered a significant amount of minis during their Chainmail sale. My order was above $200 US (I'm in Canada). I have never received a single mini. I respected my part of the deal and paid for the minis using my credit card. I have contacted them three times for a credit. The first time they told me my order had been delayed but had been sent one month later. I cleaned my brushes, readied my paint, but I received nothing. SVGames simply did not respond to my following two queries.

I am very bitter and truly disappointed (and $200 short). SVGames should know I have not received my order, because they would have received a confirmation from the postal services long ago if that was the case. I know I will not buy anything from the Internet again, and the attitude of SVGames (as far as I'm concerned anyway) is definitely not beneficial for the rpg e-industry.

I do not know if I'll get my money back but I would like to know any of you would have a suggestion on what to do.

Thanks

Well, you do have some options.

First, I'd recommend getting a phone number, & calling instead of using email or postal mail. It's a lot harder to ignore a phone call, and at least then you'll talk to someone.

Next, there is a good part here: if you ordered something on a credit card & never recieved the merchandise, call your credit card company, relate your story to them, and ask them to reverse the charges. I'm not sure the exact language to use, but you can legally dispute the charge to your card, since the charge was payment for goods not recieved. The CC company will advise you on how to dispute the charge & what's involved, and then they will attempt to contact the game store and get the details. Working with your Credit Card company is a good way to either get your money back, or get your product from the pressue the CC folks will put on the store.

Good luck.

My experience so far with Talon Comics has been very good so far, you might try them. Unfortunately, I've never used SVGames so I can't help you there.

Regardless of who you choose to do business with in the future do not just take this situation as a loss. You received no product for your good money. You should stop nothing short of phoning every employee's grandmother to either get your money back or receive what you paid for. This is not acceptable! Definitely contact your credit card company right away. Don't wait for this company to respond in a timely manner. It probably will not happen, and then the credit card company may not help you.

When SVGames' intial Chainmail sale came out (their "sale" prices have since gone up), I purchased a small number of minis (less than $20). I also had problems. They were suppose to ship at the end of March. By mid-April I attempted to contact SVGames. They did not return any of my emails and their phone was not working either. I contacted WotC, since SVGames was a spinoff of their online store, and got some action. Within a few days I had recieved an email from SVGames and my order arrived within a few weeks.

With SVGames more than most sellers Buyer Beware

The only complaint I had with SV was that it seemed to take a looong time to get my product. Otherwise, they were a great place to deal with.

I got my sale figs from them (minus a minotaur's head), but it took nearly 4 months between order & arrival. They seem incredibly slow. I only ordered ca $40 worth although it was nearly $80 with postage to UK.

Before SVGames spun off into their own company, I worked with some of the key people that now make up that organization. While I am completely unable to address your specific issue, I can say that they are good people who will do their best to help you. I know that isn't much consolation right now, and I also know these people are not the ones doing customer service, but my experience is that they will set things right sooner or later.

My best advice is to definitely contact them about this again. With the volume of orders that they receive, if you don't make your problem known, repeatedly, it may fall through the cracks.

If for some reason, after contacting them one or two more times and you still don't get your products or your money back, definitely file chargebacks with your bank.

If it takes such a long time to receive an order, how good can a store really be? IMO, receiving an order in a timely manner is part of a good customer experience.
