King Conan

About time. No one likes the bar fights, the drunkeness, the killing of wizards, and the getting the babe who is half naked at the best of times.

Well, with any luck it just won't get made.

Gotta agree with what you guys are saying.

If it ain't got Arnold, or they make it some "kinder, gentler Conan" then I will not spend my money to support it. (and I'll do my best to make sure anyone I know doesn't go either)

Even more so if they use that sorry excuse for an action/fantasy movie the Scorpion King as a model.

I think it would be best at this point to just leave it as is and forget anyone ever mentioned a third movie. (no matter how much I wanted to see it before)

As much as I would have loved to see the old team back together for the film, I was getting seriously tired of the feet dragging. How long has it been? How long was it going to be?

Truth to be told, there are a lot of filmmakers out there who could do something worthwhile with the franchise. Also, there's a huge amount of material in print that could be utilized for Conan films. A younger Conan could mean a lot more films on the horizon once things get rolling, and despite what some people may have thought of The Scorpian King, it may be better than nothing (especially if it is the first of a handful of films.) I'll admit to enjoying some of the cheesier films in our favorite genres nearly as much as the classics (and some films are both!)

Perhaps when the delve deeper into the source material available from Howard and others they will realize the folly of the "kinder, gentler" mantra and make a film worth seeing.

What a great idea, rush a crap movie to the theater to try and get a good opening weekend. Of course then the movie dies off in week two and slowly slides into oblivion. Better yet save a bunch of money and just go straight to video. My favorite idea is for them to die slow painful deaths but instead we will probably see Kevin Sorbo cast as Conan.

Perhaps I am not being clear. My point is that it would be better to let someone new try something and fail thatn to wait for those that had the rights to have done nothing at all. :)

Sorbo's too old for the role, if the premise is to go back to the early works and build the character through a long series of movies. I'll keep my fingers crossed. ;)

Getting new people to work on the project is fine with me, but saying you are going for a cheaper more streamlined approach isn't a good sign, and a kinder, gentler Conan? good grief, didn't they already try that with Conan the Destroyer, and didn't it come across poorly (well everything in that movie came across poorly). Kull the Conqueror? They have already been there. What was wrong with the first movie, you know the one that made all the money and became a classic, why don't they try to make one like the sucessful movie instead of going down the same road as the crap movie.
