Knockback and AoOs

Evil DM cackling. :D

Wicked cool idea for a group of NPCs.

They would only get one AoO each on the poor soul, 'cause you can't use an AoO to strike a target more than once in a given round. I agree it would still suck for the poor guy. :)

Well, if all these work, then I'm guessing that Great Throw (which lets you forcibly move the victim from one square to antoher) would also provide AoO to those nearby right?

Sure would. Ouch. Gettin' smacked on the noggin as you fly through the air. That's harsh.

You're not the only that has made this point, believe me. :) It's perfectly clear though, especially now that I've reread the entry in the PHB, pointed out by Mal. Frustrating that it's in there but not in the SRD.

Most of the SRD has not been offically released, and as such contains many, many, many errors (and I wouldn' t be surprised if the offically released sections have errors too). Many a debate has been settled by reading the PHB instead :)

Yeah, I noticed that. :) Would be nice to have all the errata and correct info in one place. Hey...wait a sec...where's my OCR software... :D

Great throw is more of a teleport like effect than movement as you place them in any square you threaten.

You can throw them over a wall which they would not normally be able to move through.

Monte Cook said that Combat Reflexes can be used once per opportunity but was not limited to one per round per opponent.

IE. if someone moved past you, drank a potion next to you and was hit by someone else and you had combat reflexes, opportunist and 14+ dex you could attack 3 times.

Hehe, imagine 4 ogres in a line, each with the Great Throw feat. The first one grabs the charging fighter and throws him back towards the second. The second uses the AoO thus generated and thows him to the third. Ditto from the third to the fourth. And then the fourth ogre tosses him off the cliff behind him!

Can you imagine the look on the player's face? He charges in and, thump, toss, toss, toss, splat. Next? Give these guys combat reflexes and you could have most of the party off the cliff before they even got to swing!

Ok, so it's a bit contrived, but it sure would be funny.
