Yeah, drow were bad ass back in the day. As soon as everyone started playing them they kinda lost their coolness factor to me.
Well, I missed the swarms, so I'm not sick of them yet.

Oh, ok. Well, to quote from the 4e FRPG, [ahem] "Most Drow are singularly wicked. They are cruel in their dealings with others and treacherous among themselves......Though most Drow are villains firmly in the thrall of the Spider Queen, not all suffer so. Some Drow escape the Underdark to find new lives on the surface, while a few reject the dominance of Lolth's priestesses and form mercenary companies or trade consortiums of their own. These, however, are the exceptions. [and on the preceding page] ...Drow are a decadent race of dark elves whose beauty and sophistication fail to mask hearts all too often stained in evil."No, what I meant did they change things so Drow are an accepted part of society now? Not the mechanics, but the fluff of the race?
Well, I missed the swarms, so I'm not sick of them yet.My only gripe is the LA thinger(which makes them hard to play as most games are for lower levels), but for their bonuses, I do see why something of that sort would be needed.
"Play a Drow if you want ..... to play a hero in search of redemption, or one who struggles to rise above the wickedness of his or her people."
*Shrug* I guess, but I still think it's kinda cool to have the possibility of a drow pc.Huh. Well, I knew there was a reason I didn't pick up 4E.![]()
Level Adjustment...really the only way to make things fair with the bonuses they give certain races in 3E. Its a good concept in theory; in practice, a little more difficult.

So now we've switched from talking about Drow to Aasimar? I can't keep up!Meh, I never reallly liked LA. Especially when you look at the "lesser" tiefling/aasimar from the FR book. Essentially no change to their stats, but no LA. If you're playing a paladin, the aasimar is singularly the best race.
Anyways, the marginal stats bonuses + darkness (easily countered) & faerie fire are pretty weak. Darkvision isn't that great. SR is the only goodie they get for +2 LA, oh and they lose the elf weapon proficiencies.

Hi ... I'm back!
What did I miss? Am I still in this game? If so, what is the party composition, and is there a RG?
I take it our mission is to find Leif and rescue him!
